Default Rear shock question

Hey guys I don't post in here much but I had a question I thought might fit in better here than the suspension section.

Is anyone running these...

If so, whats your honest opinion of their performance?? I know usually you get what you pay for & these are cheap in price, so I thought I'd ask the guys who actually race.

My car is not & will not ever be a full race car. It's a daily driver but I'm also lookin for a good set of rear shocks that will help me at the track without breaking my bank.

I use a set of competition engineering rear shocks on my car. I have them set on the 50/50 setting and I think they work pretty well. I usually 60' in the high 1.5's with a best 60' of 1.530. Do a search on these shocks and you should come up with a bunch of results. There are some guys that run pretty quick using these shocks. I got my pair off ebay for $36. Keep in mind that you have to remove these from the lower shock mount to make adjustments.

They will probably work better at the track then a stock shock, but not as well as a qa1/strange/afco would. If you just want some adjustability for the rare track trip, probably not a bad way to go about it. Certainly cheap enough to try anyway.

The fronts are a good choice, but if you are gonna spend the $ on the fronts, mone as well do all 4. If you turn them up to 5 or 6 they drive fine on the street (at least the qa1 ones do, even with the R series fronts)

Well I can't afford to spend $600 on shocks. If I just get the fronts in Strange & the rears in the Comp drag shocks, it'll only be $390. Which is more in my price range.

It was either gonna be mix-n-match these or just get a set of the Bilstein HD shocks since both set-ups would be about $400.

I was just thinking this mix-n-match might be a little better for the track, but I wanted to get some opinions from people with more experience.

your mix and match is certainly going to be better for the track, that I am sure of.

Look @ speed engineering on here... sponsor to the right>>>>>>>>>>>>

I bought the qa1 r series and 12 ways from them last year and they had by far the best prices on them I could find. If I remember it was like 580 for the r series fronts and the 12 way rears, and the regular 12 way fronts were a good bit cheaper, around 100 bucks cheaper. Get ahold of them, see what the regular 12 way front and rear are going for, might be able to get them for around the same $

I would buy the strange double adjustable 250.00 ea for the fronts and save till you get more money then get the 3way C/E shocks for the rear, I had the 3ways on the rear set to 50/50 for 8 years and they always worked great.

Plus the strange double adjustable a fairly inexpensive for a double adjustable shock and you can tune the shock for drag racing, street driving or even road racing.
