I'd keep the stock springs if you are on slicks.

Since you have Hals you can just play with those settings.

If you ran on drag radials and did not have Hals I'd say V6 springs in back.

For a cheap effective solution: V6 springs.

I did the swap on my '94 and the difference was remarkable. Plus, they only cost $50 from the auto salvage yard.

Two quick points:

1. Make sure you get '97 (I think) or earlier. After a certain year, all rear springs became the same.

2. Your back end will roll more in hard/tight corners, but it's not extreme.

I'd only do V6 springs if you never plan to get Hal shocks.

I ran a set of 1995 V6 springs and they did work. Car murdered some 5.0's on the street when I rolled on drag radials.

Once I got slicks and Hals I was fighting the V6 springs.

The V6 springs are a lighter spring weight, and can cause the car to squat more on launch...

There are a few different theories on how the rear suspension should work best, but I've personally found that squat is undesireable. When the rear of the car squats, it's actually trying to lift the rear tires off the ground, which can cause them to unload and spin.

My car is set up to actually lift the rear end a little on the launch, effectively planting the rear tires harder.

It's all in the lower control arm mounting location (in my case, anyway...).

JMHO....

Stock springs and hals. Maybe preload with airbag if need arises. Also, larger rear sway bar if car twists on takeoff at trap.
