Default New race engine won't start, need help.

I'll try to make it as short as possible. I had the car/motor going about a month ago, but ran into some issues. I had to pull the motor back out. Well, I got the motor back and put it all back together and it won't start. Nothing changed from when I pulled the motor to putting it back in. Here's what I've checked so far:

-Grounds

-Turn the key to on, fuel and water pump are on

-Checked voltage on the main supply/harness for the coil packs on each side of the engine, using the pink for positive and black for negative. Shows 12 volts with the key on

-The crank does indeed have a 24x reluctor wheel

-Checked all harness plugs to make sure they're fully plugged in and in the correct position

-Rolled the motor over with the plugs out until I the oil pressure came up

-Continuity check on the fuses, all checked out good.

This makes no sense to me because I already had the car running. Pulled the motor, put it back in after sorting out the issues, and now it doesn't want to fire up. Any ideas?

Does it even crank? Are you getting spark at each coil? Spark to each spark plug? Pump turns on but do you have fuel pressure? Are the injectors firing? There is no vats system on the car right?

The engine rolls over, but it does not fire.

I put a dummy spark plug on #1 and #2 wire, rolled the engine, but no spark. But that makes no sense because I'm getting 12 volts to each harness that supplies power to each individual coil pack.

Yes, I have fuel pressure, I have a a gauge on the regulator.

Not sure how to check if the injectors are firing.

Vats system?

Vehicle anti theft, but I don't think it will even crank so never mind.

So power to the coils but no power to the plugs, test power at each coil. Also is there a fuse for the coils?

I never even looked at mine since mines all stock anyways.

Sounds close though, power between the coil and plug, so either the coils are not getting power or the computer isn't firing the coils.

It doesn't have anything to do with the vehicle anti-theft system. I don't think it would even turn over if it was related to that.

I checked both main harnesses that feed the 8 coil packs and there was 12 volts. I just checked each individual (8) harnesses for the coil packs and they too have 12 volts.

I'm thinking the computer isn't firing them, but why wouldn't it?

UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE! I feel like a total *** hat! I forgot to plug in the crank sensor!!!!!!

I spent all day with wiring trying to figure it out. I made one phone call and got my answer. (thanks Joe!)

Erik was saying it was going to be something simple when I figured it out and sure enough. I've just done so much in the last couple of days, it doesn't surprise me that I forgot it. Anyhow, thanks again bro.

Glad you got it, yeah it is always something too simple, it's like walking around the garage 10 times cussing for 30 minutes and then finding your tool sitting on the fender right under the hood

Glad you found the problem! This gives others an idea of what to look for if they have the same issue.

Sounds good Dragaholic. I've been kind of following your project because its pretty close to what I just put together except I have the carb. We went 9.94 @ 136 with no dyno tune (Still have no clue what a/f is have to get her on my dyno soon), 28 deg timing, 110 leaded on a crap 1.42 60'.

Good luck with her.
