We've got one at work. So far it seems to be very repeatable, but we haven't been able to compare them actual dragstrip times. I'd expect to be within .05 secs. The old Gtechs were typically .02-.05 from the actual timeslips.

No way. The old Gtechs were off 3-4mph consistently and usually a tenth or two, not hundredths.

I brought one of the old Gtechs to TNT at Memphis Motorsports one night and clicked off 5 passes. The biggest disparity between the Gtech and the time slip was .04 that night on a high 14 sec car. The old Gtech measures instantaneous 1/4 mile mph...the dragstrip takes the average mph over the last 66 feet...thus the 3-4 mph difference.

So, the dragstrip clocks you 66 ft from the finish, and right at the finish, and averages the mph? So, that would mean that you are probably going 2-3 mph faster when you cross the line than the timeslip says.

Correct. It's another reason why people often miscalculate proper gearing. 130 MPH trap speed is really more like 133-134. If you're running close on gear, it makes alot of difference.

I have the old GTech, the ET's were fairly close. Usually within a half tenth. The MPH would usually be 4-6 off. It was worth it for backroad test-N-tuning.

My buddy just got one...its actually pretty darn impressive. Lots of features and seems to be accurate. I thought the old one was difficult to get setup properly?

The damn tach is what freaks me out the most..lol.

I thought the old one was pretty simple to use. Matter of opinion I guess.
