Default Rim Screws: Summit Racing or Hardware store?

I'm having a little heartburn over dropping $22.00 (with shipping) at Summit for some screws. I'm not a tight-*** that tries to skimp on every little part...but I don't like thowing $$ away either. Is there something special about them to justify the price or will a nice grade 8 screw from the local hardware store give the same results?

If you are able 2 find something exact or very close maybe but I would still get the correct 1's from Summit or Jegs...

.

My goofy wife bought some screws for her license plate holder without asking me.(I have drawers full of every screw ever made) When she gave me one to give her a nut driver to fit it, it was the exact same screw. It was silver instead of anodized, but who cares. I have to use beadlocks, but I would not buy one of those kits ever again. I would not give it a second thought, especially if you use them correctly. Just my 2 cents.

Just get some grade 8 sheet metal screws from American hardware in La Plata or Waldorf.

Bleh for rim screws!!

Go down to NAPA and get you some Hy-tack. Smear it on the beads and let her ride!
