Default AC! HVAC! PS! Last minute checks

Well I am going to start taking the AC and HVAC and Power Steering out this weekend. Any advice on something that is generally missed, such as special tools needed or anything? Any ideas or pics on the PS removal and how to loop everything? I searched and found several useful threads but wanted to just do a last minute check before I dive in. Thanks fellas!

power steering, if you had the power steeting cooler you will need a new radiator hose, available at your dealer/napa/etc. The 2 lines going out of the rack need to be looped together, how you do it is up to you but as long as they are looped togeher you will be fine.

As for the hvac, get a hammer. You can try to take it out in one piece, but good luck. THe ductwork is easy, but there's a bolt in the center of the firewall you can not get to unless the motor is out, so don't be afraid to rip/pull/tug/hit with a hammer. I hated doing it, but there really is no other way with the motor in the car IMO.

I wish I would have known about that center bolt when I did mine. I just ended up pulling it out and breaking it off.

When I removed my power steering I just cut the hose with a set of tin snips, then I looped the line and used a hose clamp to tighten everything up.

No leaks and it turns fine to me.

The power steering pulley was a b*tch for me to get off, so I hit it once with a hammer and then it was easier to unscrew when it was in pieces

That power steering pump assembly is worth about $50-80 so you probably don't want to destroy it.

The hvac stuff comes out pretty easily in once piece and you can get to that 1 bolt with the engine in the car, just use a small ratchet.
