Exclamation How much does the width of your tire affect performance?

found a good deal on a set of draglites but they are 15x8" rears i was hoping to find 15x10" but this is a really good deal i came across. would the 2" difference be noticeable? would i be better off going ahead and getting the wider rims?

To me personally, The more power/torque, the more tire you will need. So, if more power in the future, 15x10 will give you more tire width selections to play with.Hope this answers your questions.

Honestly, I think, and have always thought that increasing sidewall height will benefit performance more then increasing tread width.

Sidewall height is already increase via 15" wheel. So, for our camaro/firebird, again depending on power, 26",28" up to 30" height tires w/width starting at 9"to 13". Ofcourse, at some point you will need to modify the wheelwells.
