Default First 1/8 Times with 383 stroker!

Made it out to HRP Sunday for some TNT action. Not many cars there, I think everyone went the day before to Clash of the Titans. Weather was crummy, low 90's, 80% humidity (fixing to rain), but I was determined to get in some runs!

I don't have a cage yet, so I had to let up after the 1/8 mile and coast across the line. I managaed to make 4 runs before some of Tropical Storm Bill's outer rain bands poured across HRP.

The results were:
Runs 1 & 2 were thru the exhaust and dumping clutch at 3000rpm.

#1 - 1.753(60')/5.080(330')/7.816(1/8)/92.66mph
#2 - 1.735(60')/5.061(330')/7.815(1/8)/91.75mph

Runs 3 & 4 were with cutout open and dumping clutch at 3500rpm.

#3 - 1.681(60')/4.938(330')/7.628(1/8)/93.34mph
#4 - 1.736(60')/5.009(330')/7.655(1/8)/93.99mph

The car hooked off the line with no spinning I could detect.
The car raceweight was 3620 lbs.,had 16" chrome wheels front & back with GY 245 GSC's front & Nitto 245's back.
Front suspension is BMR K-memeber/Lower A-arms/Hal adj. shocks.
Rear suspension is all stock except Hotchkiss LCAs and RR airbag set to 15psi.
The only weight reductions are spare/jack, rear seats, EGR/Air Pump, and VFN fiberglass hood.

Just posting up in case anyone was curious what cars with a 383 stroker kit will run in the summer heat. The car definately feels like it has more in it, will now make some weight reduction mods and get a cage!!

Is 1.55 the constant to multiply your 1/8 mile by to get estimate the 1/4? Is there a constant also for 1/8 to 1/4 mph?

Nice 1/8 mile, good mph with 1.68 60ft you should be around 11.60 to 11.80 in 1/4.

TTtop, I don't know if this will help, since my Nova is nowhere near aerodynamic but on my 11.88 at 112 mph pass had 1/8 mile numbers of 7.54 at 91.34 mph with a 1.677 60 foot. My 7.68-7.70 runs during the summer so far have netted 12.teens at 109-110.
