Default Front a-arm issue/k-member

The slots on the front k-member....lined it up, tightened everything good. I know it was all tight I did it myself.....

Test drove the car, and when I turned it around the drivers side slid all the way outward on the slot.

Whats the fix for this? I can't be the only one that has had this problem....Is there a washer with something that will grab? eccentric kit etc.? It just has flat washers on it now (what came with the complete kit)

Thanks for the help

Are you wrenching them or tightening them with a torque wrench and making sure you're setting them to the right specs?

I locked a wrench on one side and tightened it with a 3 ft snapon ratchet......I know it has at least 150 ft. lb. on it. I'm 6'4 285# I been powerlifting for about 10 years...I got plenty a pair to tighten this bolt. I'm dissapointed of the crappey design. I have also worked on cars (been an online tech) for 15 years......most all these type adjustments will have teeth on them or some type of eccentric washer or something

with aftermarket a-arms and k members sometimes you have to set the alignment properly and then tack weld the nut/bolt to the k member. just enough to keep it from loosening but not enough to make it a hassle if you need to grind the wled off to readjust or remove the parts.

That's exactly what I would do. Get a couple large washers on there, get the thing lined up where it has to be and weld the washers right onto the K member. Problem solved.

Try a star washer between the k member and the regular washer.

Thanks for the tip......

I feel alot better with welding it......star washer sounds good but at 140mph I'd rather KNOW its welded

I'd get the washers smaller and then open the hole up so it fits really tight around the bolt so there is no play.

A 1/2" washer doesn't have a 1/2" hole, they all have some play. So I would get the next size down and then drill it so it fits tight.

I had this same problem.

I found out that the sleve inside the a-arm bushing was not long enough and was causing the bushing to deform while the sleve was not making enough contact with the a-arm.

Fixed by getting a longer sleve for the bushings.

Hope this helps.
