Default Switching from 325/50 to slicks, what size slicks?

I want something close to the same size, but want them to clear when they grow. My fender openings have not been altered. My 325's are close to the fender openings now.

I am minitubbed, rear narrowed 3 inches per side with a 5 in bs wheel.

29.5x10.5 slick?

28x13.5 ET street?

I run a 28x10.5x15s (stiff sidewall) I thing they are pretty close to the same size as the 325's. Maybe someone else can confirm though.

A 28x13.5 ET Street is what the tire compares to 325 50 15.

basically 28" with 11" tread and 13" section.

My 325/50/r15s are significantly wider than my old 28 x 10.5s. I had perfect clearance with the 28x10.5s but when I went to the 325s I had to narrow the rear end 1/2" to get close to comparable clearance.

MT 325 50 15 = MT 28W = MT 28x11.5 slick = 28x13.5 ET Street

All are pretty close.

Will any of these tires grow and hit the fender openings.

I ran a 28x10.5 slick and then switched to a 325/50 MT radial. The slicks would grow a little at high speeds and rub the back of the fender opening. The radials don't grow hardly at all. A 325/50 radial is wider than a 28x10.5 slick (ET DRAG) and a little shorter. According to the Mickey Thompson website, the 325s are pretty close in size to a 28x11.5 slick.

fastfatboy, put a 30x10.5 hoosier radial slick on it. if you can get a 29.5x10.5 under it the 30x10.5 hoosier slick will fit. it's only 29.6 and it will not grow. better 60ft times and et with radial slicks to. i have been 7.7s at 170 on them

your tires are tucked under pretty good dave. When the slick grows it gets skinnier so It won't hit on the outside anyway.

I run a 28 10.50 E.T. Drag

MD I am worried about the lower points of the rear fender openings touching the slick when it grows. It is within a 1/2 inch front and rear of the 325/50 as it sits now.

teh 28W might be the most popular W tire of them all. i know MT and Hoosier sell a TON of them. a lot of faster cars on this site run them.

The part number you gave me is that for a 28x10.5 W tire?

David,
I have a set of 28x10.5 stiffs on bogarts you are welcome to test fit if you want in Pensacola. They are 7.5 bs, 15x10's. They just barely touched in the front without a lil love over 120 mph, where the standard 28x10.5 didn't. I guess the S's are a hair taller.

John
