Which slicks??
I have a 95 trans am with an iron block 434sb and a powerglide transmission and 4.56 gears and will be launching off the transbrake. I have full suspension, madman torque arm etc. What size slicks would you perfer, 28 or 29.5? Most of the time i run on test and tune nights so i need something to hook up on non prepped tracks. Any input will be appreciated

My car (stock wheel wells, 10" wheel, 7.5" backspace) has ran with the 29" Hoosiers, however I had tire rubbing issues between the tread and the body when the body would separate upon launch.
I am not familiar with the radials, but I know NHRA class racers love them and Hoosier says their drag radials are just treaded versions of their radial slicks.
If you go bias ply, get a stiff sidewall Hoosier or MT in 28".

I ran the 28x10.5 soft sidewalls last year and they didnt seem to do to good even off the footbrake but i was hitting the tires hard and seemed to look like they was goin flat at the intial hit at 12.5 psi.

I would have to agree with RAGEN... the Hoosier Slick Radials are the *****. I have used them off and on for the last 4 years. Great tires. I'll be going back to them (along with the M/T DR) next year. My best times on the turbos have come using the Hoosier.
We all are assuming that you have cut the fenders to make the larger tires fit ???

Yes I have already cut the quarters. Will the radial slicks hook going low 6's? I will be spraying in the future. And most of the time i will be racing a track that is not prepped.
