Default a t56 in a fox body.... how will this work out :(

i've recently picked up a fox body mustang and im caught in the delima of having a car already setup for a mechanical clutch.... should i put a gforce T5 (since the stock T5's are week) in it or put a t56 in it.... it will be powered by a BBC....

it has to have a manual transmission with overdrive... other than that i dont care what tranny it is aslong as it will hold up to a mild BBC that will not see much track at all....

any body make a mechanical setup for a t56 yet?

what would you guys do?

thanks,

Tyler

If you do end up going w/ the T56, make sure it has a 31 spline input shaft at the minimum. Stock T56's that came in 03-04 Cobra's only had a 10 spline input shaft that will twist and snap w/ some torque... I know this for a fact thru experience! We snapped ours in a 2000 Cobra R shifting into 4th at about the 1200 ft. mark. Many shops offer the trans w/ this upgrade now. Just an FYI!

the only thing that concerns me is the hydraulic and the fact that it may require quite a bit of cutting

the gforce t5 seems like a more simpler solution and hold quite a bit of power in a light fox body
