Default Pulled the plugs today

(Don't have pics yet, camera phone took bad pictures)

Pulled the plugs today after I decided that I either have an electrical problem going to my motor fuel pump or a bad pump (Holley blue pump (carb)).

Pulled the pulgs and two of the wires were pretty much bad (Moroso 8.mm's), because the metal part that goes around the plug stayed attached to the plug on number 2 and number 4.

7 of the plugs were really rich and some were pretty gunked up because I found out you can't start these engines with no choke unless its warm out of the garage is so thats what soaked them in fuel ect ect.

I knew the number 5 plug wire had a burn spot but I knew I would just replace it before I sprayed it. Pulled number 5 and the plug looks pretty much brand new, no joke. Smelled fuel on it but no indication of spark.

I watched the previous owner replace these plugs a year or so ago and they have like 80 miles on them at most.

Funny thing is all this time the car had great power and screamed on 7 cylinders hahaha.

Ran a buddies girlfriends LS1 GTO, I was in second and he was in first and I put an instant 4 or a little more cars on him..... with 7 cylinders..........

Have a new MSD cap and rotor for it allready along with Moroso 8.5mm race wires.

The plugs are NGK R's BPR5EY with an 11 under it. It was cross referenced from the Autolite race plug that was in it. Only problem is it may be a tad rich because it coud be the plugs for the 300 shot? Only thing is that I pulled the number 2 a few months back and it looked great when it comes to color.

Bob at EPP is finding some all motor plugs for me and some N20 plugs. (good guy and people to deal with)

Regardless of if its the N20 plugs or not its still interesting that the car ran the way it did and was turning heads last year running on 7 holes hahaha..

Explains the 8-10mpg!

.

Big fan of sleeves & boots. I've burned too many wires in the last 20+ years. With NGK I use a 7-8 on nuts & a 10 on spray. Good luck, get off the damn net!! you have painting to do.

Don't get the keys to the house till at the latest the 29th.

Went and looked at lighting today

The burn was on the wire, looks like the header primary did it. A turbo Buick guy pointed it out, suprised he could count past 6 .

Found out part of the issue is the 11 stands for -11 meaning its for like a 400+ shot from what I am told.

Going with -8's on the motor and -10's for the big shot.

A 9 for a 300 shot? I was going to run a 6 for a 150 on my last car and thats pretty standard.

Bob and Brent at EPP are going to talk about it Monday and see whats best.

May end up trying a few different ones like most people end up doing.

Keep in mind guys, the higher the number you go on the NGK, the colder. Any other plug it's the opposite. Also another rule of thumb, on naturally aspirated, a 7 is usually good for 700 hp, 8 for 800 hp, etc. That's is not set in stone. But the tune also has a great affect on it too.

So far everyone I have asked has given me a different answer (does not suprise me).

About ready to go with whatever EPP says to go with for now untill I can get the car up to them to get on the dyno and go from there.

Know for sure that #5 was not firing at all. One of the guys at work has a 400-500hp GM truck and said I want to keep an eye on that plug and make sure its not getting oil fouled when I replace them (fuel cylinder wash).

Well I found out that each number difference on the plug is not as big a difference as I thougt. Would rather stay on the safe side for now
