Default Took out rear seats today.

Hey guys just thought I'd share some pictures of the rear seat delete. Theres a couple of reasons that I took them out. One reason that I took them out is because If I have more then 0ne person in my car, the turndowns on the True duals scrape sometimes. The second is for the wieght savings. I havent taken the seat belts out because I dont have the right tools. But in the spring when I can drive it to my buddys shop I will take the seat belts out as well. I know in the sticky it says the rear seat wieghs 30 lbs but I find it real hard to believe. Has anyone personally had the seats on a scale? Let me know, Thanks. Oh yah it only takes about 15 minutes to do it.

I wanted to keep my seat to keep the interior as stock looking as possible, I pulled the cover off the top seat and cut off the metal brackets, it sheds a few pounds, around 8 I think if I remember, then you just stuff the rear seat back in. Still looks pretty stock to me.

Here are some photos, to lighten it even more you could hole saw the hell out of the plastic frame also, I mean why remove the rear seat to save 20 pounds if you can keep it and make it weigh 10-12 pounds less?

The seat buckets and back alone come to a little over 25 lbs (25 lbs 2 oz). Add in the seat belts and metal brackets to mount the buckets and you have a nearly 8 lbs (7 lbs 10 oz). There are also a few fasteners that I probably left off too. So yes...the sticky is pretty accurate.

All weighing was just performed in my garage using a postal scale.
