that cam needs a 4400 stall. If you can live with that cam in a daily driver, you can deal with a 4400 stall. Get a Yank PT4400

Neil Chance, you pay for the best. You will have to do a tranny swap for one though. I have a Coan in my car now and like it.

Biggeryou go, faster the car will be at the track. BUddy of mine had a 3800 in his bolton car, put a 3200 in for better drivability and added a cam, and after a cam swap he only picked up .3 from the looser stall/stock intenal setup.

Get a 4000+ and enjoy!

Oh, and a cheap converter, well is just that, cheap. You get what you pay for, you spend less then 500, and you will regret it in the long run, spend the $ now the first time and be done with it.

This isn't your only car you drive right? I had a 4,500 in my street strip car and it chugged gas big time.

If you want to run good, don't go budget on a torque converter. Most important mod you can make. Buy the best. I think if you do any daily driving, stick with a Yank TP4000 or 4400. If you drive alot and care about mileage maybe a SS3800 or 4000. If you're all out racing, an ATI 5500.

If you are going to spray the car get a Yank SS3800-4000. My buddy had the 4000 and it was surprisingly tight for being a bigger stall.

Or if you are going to stay N/A go with a Yank PT3800-4000...

Circle-D is worth a look at as well.

I think of the big converter guys sell a good product now a day's. I've heard good things about circle D, my buddie has one and loves it. There service was great also when he needed it restalled. It's a tight 4400 and said you could DD it but it is more like a cam only race car lol.
Coan, from right here in Indiana has been in the game for a VERY long time and know about everything there is to know about tranny's and converters. I have one of there comp th400's and it is rock solid so far during road testing. Looking forward to taking it to the track next week for a real test.
Yank, Everyone knows there rep around here. A+.
Neal Chance is one of the best, everything from mild to wild$$$.

The list could go on. It really comes down to price you wanna spend and customer service.

Edge makes the best converters for the money BY FAR! You get a warranty and everything for hundreds less then a Yank.
I'd put my Edge up against any of the other "popular on ls1tech" brands ANY DAY.

Give Andre a call and tell him that Josh Shumway sent you, then you can thank me later.

Just FYI....
I bought my car with an Edge converter already in it. The converter was too loose fo my needs (spraying a big shot) so I called them to ask about having it re-stalled. Andre asked me tons of questions about my setup and I told him that I would be spraying a 3-400 shot on it among other things. Well, after we got done talking about it he asked me for my info so that he could transfer the warranty into my name! I told him that I didn't even buy the converter, he told me that no matter who bought it that they would stand behind it! I was pretty shocked. Well, I sent it to them and had it back within a week and a half. The converter has been awesome and has worked flawlessly. I've made over 700rwhp with it in there and it has never missed a beat. Oh yea, he also sent me a shirt, pens, decals, and some other Edge stuff too with my converter. I honestly have never received better customer service in my life.

If I were you I'd go with around a 36-3800. You can buy one from Edge for about $550.00

If you have any questions about them just shoot me a PM

I completely agree, when I did run a 4LjunkiE I ran Pro Tourque and they ran fine but with the LTX motor peak tq was in the 3500 range, and I ran mid to low 2000 and it was annoying. 94/95 ODB1 PCM's had a issue with stall wall at the time too, it would freak out and dump the trans into 3rd regardless of where the shifter was at.

If I were to run a 4LJunkiE or a 4L80E, Yank, Neal Chance, or even a PI Vigi.
