Ignition box?
I asked a similar question yesterday but did not get a good answer. What types of ignition box, two step, linelock setup can our cars use? I have a 2000 SS. I did not know if one can be wired with our stock computer/ignition. I may need electronic launch control if i go to pro class this year.

Thanks, for the replies. I race IHRA bracket racing and to go up to pro class you need electronics to launch to be competetive. The footbrake heavy class i'm in now is being combined with street. I am not going to race against some minivan in the finals so now i need to figure out how to install some electronics to time my launch. I don't know about dumping the PCM yet. Is that what i need to do to make this work? Maybe i'll call MSD.

MSD 2-step and spark control
Any particular reason you would want to hand over spark control to the MSD instead of being able to have the factory PCM control spark?
I am not trying to plug our product, just trying to understand what people see as the advantage to using the MSD in this type of application.
Thanks,

Get the Lingenfelter launch controller. Its very easy to install and just plain works.
I'm curious, whichever unit you choose to buy, how are you going to run the trigger wire? are you getting a trans brake as well?

I don't particularly see any advantage. I was just researching the best way to have launch control while using the factory PCM. Your product Lingenfelter seems to be the easyest way to achieve this. I just need line lock control and two step to limit my RPM at the line. Thankyou for the information/help
Top fuel take a look at Lingenfelter's site at the top they have wiring instructions/diagrams that show how to wire.

Mines been hooked up for awhile, I was asking how you were planning to use it? You know how a manual car hooks it up to the clutch pedal and a TB car hooks it up to a TB. I was curious to know how a 4l60 car would utilize it?

I plan on hooking it up per Ligenfelters directions on their front page to my linelock and adding a button on my steering wheel. I may have to hook my rear wheels into the linelock also to hold the car. I really need a trans brake to use it properly but i don't have the funds for that this year. Take a look at www.lingenfelter.com site and at the top right they have installation directions. It shows you different ways to hook it up.
