Default Technique for launching high HP M6?

I need a little help learning to launch my M6. A moser 12 bolt is going in along with ET street's so I have that covered. Is it as simple as dropping the clutch at 5K?

Do you guys have any techniques or advice as to what works for you?

It's really pretty easy when you have slicks and a good clutch. I've only raced about 8 times with my Hoosiers and the highest I could launch at was 4 grand. That got me a 1.75 60 ft. The only thing you need to do his dump the clutch and floor it. When it hooks it sure is fun.

You need one more thing to help you out launch more consistently - Harlons 2-step. With an A4 they can step on the brakes, hold the guy down a little and launch. With the M6 its a more of a science to launch at the same RPM. Harlon's 2-step solves this.

After burn out, roll into the lights, push in the clutch, set the 2-step (set at 5800 rpms), floor it (it will hold at 5800 rpms without activiting the nitrous), as the 2nd yellow goes out just drop the clutch. Best todate (on 100 shot) 1.50 60' - fairly consistent 1.50-1.55. I am using 28x10.5x15 ET Drags. You would have to adjust your rpm luanch and psi on your ET streets according to spin. Still should be able to easily get into the high 1.6 with good track prep.

Good luck

David

Ok...I guess the obvious and best way would be to practice and work my way up from say 3500.

I guess I will plan on starting the ET's at 15Psi and going from there.

Forget the ET Streets and go w/ ET Drags
6500 dump the clutch and floor it!
Works for me! This also broke my output shaft!

Did you have a tailshaft mounted torque arm? That is what usually breaks the tailshaft. The torque arm that has a cross-brace that transfers the torque back into the chassis not the trans!

My output shaft broke first, making my driveshaft go round and round inside my safty loop breaking a piece out of my tail housing. Yes, I do have a tail shaft mounted torque arm, but I've got a trak pak on order!
