Default Any ET gains from race gas at 11.1:1 CR ?

I'm running 11.1:1 CR and currently use 93 Octane with one of those 104 Octane Booster bottles with each tank. I am able to run 29* of timing with no KR. At 30* I was getting a little KR so I backed it backed to 29*.

Anyone with 11.x:1 CR have any ET gains from running race gas? If so what do you recommend, 100, 104, 110 octane?

I'd be curious to see if I could run 30-31* of timing on higher octane...

Thanks.

I would try some 110 and bump the timing up to 31* or so. I beleive there should be some time drop there but I cannot speak from experience with ls1 vehicles( still working on my bolt on goal before I go internal)

You could run 31 degree with 100 octane.

You won't make more power with too much octane (probably less.)

Dont run anything over 100. It will eat up your O2s. 70 bucks every time.

Stu, that's only true of leaded gas. So long as it's unleaded, it doesn't matter what octane it is. Been there, done that.

I shall be too. Bring your Nittos and your heavy rims. Dont pull your seats and well match em up.

"Stu: 104 is the max unleaded gas you can get."

Actually, VP Racing Fuels sells an unleaded called "HTG" which has a motor octane of 106. Their site doesn't say, but I would guess that would be about 110-112 octane by the R+M/2 method.

If you are having a hard time finding race gas go to motorcycle shops. Most of them have VP unleaded race gas in handy sealed metal containers.

There's another company in Canada that has a motor octane of 106 (112R+M/2)too.I forget there name but I think its millenium fuels?

I bet there's alittle hp to be had running VP103 in a 11.1CR car thats using N20/FAST system. The tuning ability of the FAST accompanied by the 11.1 could get you a few HP plus with the N20 it would be able to hit a higher shot w/o worry of detonation.

For most guys I'd agree with Steven..
Just run Sunoco 94...

Mine pings on 94. Looks like I'll be investing in 104.

Union 76 Sells 100 Cool Blue in 5 gal cans. I have ran it on hot days and my car seems to run better. Hard to say how much but I usually run 13.15 to 13.17 on hot day, this stuff put me in the 13.1 range on a 100 degree day. For information on where you can get it in your area call 1-800-345-0076
