Default What is the best gear with this data?

Do you want to be right at peak power when you go through the traps you do you want to be a little higher?

Im trying to figure out what gears I need for the 12 bolt....

I looking to trap in the 120-122ish area in perfect conditions, peak power is at 6200 rpms, 26.2" tire.
With a 3.90 gear it breaks down like this....
5900 118
5950 119
6000 120
6050 121
6100 122
6150 123
6200 124
With a 4.11 gear it breaks down like this....
5900 112
5950 113
6000 114
6050 115
6100 116
6150 117
6200 118
6250 118
6300 119
6350 120
6400 121
6450 122

Which would be the better gear?

I personally drive an A4. But alot of fast 6 spd's go with a 4:10 at the track and on street. It is a very good around gear. If to choose between 3:90 or 4:10, I would go with the 4:10.

4.10 all the way. You want to go through the traps at least 4-500 rpm above peak power. You use much more power under the curve that way. Some cars such as stock eliminators will go 1k+ through the traps over peak power.

Really? Even if the powerband starts to drop off a ton?

I'd get 3:90's just because of the street factor, but as with most stuff with 4:11 it will lay over at the top end and you might not hook it
