Default 29x10.5W/Mini Tub/New Wheel Update

I finally got the car out after the winter suspension overhaul. We had to sub-in 12" springs in place of the ones Wolfe provided, and it looks like we will have to add an adjustable torque arm. It ran well though for the first time out and I will try to add some action pics shortly.

Damn that looks good. Any chance you have interior pics of the mini-tub on hand?

I don't have any interior pics yet since we have not done the carpet or cut the interior trim pieces. The furthest-back trim did fit without modification however. I have a few "in process" pics somewhere I can dig out, however it basically is a mirror-image of the shots on Wolfe's page.

Regarding the wheels, they are a 15x10 with a 4.5" backspace to standardize wheel size and backspace with our other race cars. That drove us to narrow the rear end about 6.5".

The car will sit down until the torque arm hits the floor and there is still tire clearance to both the lca as well as the body. However, due to the Wolfe springs being the wrong rate for this heavy car (3500 #), we were forced to go with a 12" spring off another one of our cars which made the rear sit a little higher.

Nice car....who does your work and why is that Nova on your trailer?

I'd like to see the video of the car playing leap frog with the 60' timer.

I am just glad your welds on the radiator cross member held up better than the oil pan on the Chevy II

When it slammed off the ground, it did a nice job causing the second wheelie!

I don't call it that you've owned the car for like 4-5 years now I think.

Are you running a motor plate + BBC?

Yeah, it is a BBC with a front motor plate and stock mounts on the side. I don't think a mid plate would work due to my hedders, so that is why we had to keep the stock mounts too.

You guessed it... it is the extended Sunoco pin-on that was trimmed back by the previous owner to fit like a stock hood (was told it was not even close to fitting at the windshield).

Here's mine, did the minitub over the winter, I'm in the same boat, 12 inch springs for now, this winter I will get the 10 inch springs in the back after I modify my trans tunnel so the torque arm don't hit. Tires are 29X10.5 non w

The wheels are actually modified Holeshots (their new Sunstar wheels without the slots on the spokes) and the centers are their Billet caps.

What spring did you end up going with? I got a 10" Afco from Madman, but ended up putting the 12 back in there until I get the right wheel with better back spacing. Your's looks god that way, but should be a little more stable if you can lower it over the tire a bit more. Of course that means re setting up your suspension all over (pinion angle, etc).
