lost 6mph w/ 3200 stall
Went out to the 1/8 mile track last nite and before the 3200stall converter i was trapping about 91mph in the 1/8.
well last night i was getting only 85mph. my e.t's were the same but i think i need to adjust my shifts some.
but do you lose mph with a higher stall converter?

you usually dont gain hardly any mph with a stall.. maybe 2mph in some cases is gained, but i dont see you loosing mph from it. Maybe the air and 60ft was different from your last time?
if you cant hook with a stall, you arent gonna do crap on topend

i put the the numbers in to find out the elevation and it was horrible and plus i was shifting pretty earlier, but 6mph i couldnt believe it. my 60ft time improved only .1
gonna try to go out to the 1/4 mile sat.

Re: lost 6mph w/ 3200 stall
when i did my vig3600/SLP headers I went from 106 to 110, but more or less 2mph was from the headers.
BTW, where you shifting the car? Or was the car just shiftin early? Mine shifted at about 6000 bolt on. i just left her in 3rd and let it rip

losing 6 mph sucks man. I added the Vig 3600 and went from running 102 in the summer all stock to 106 with the convertor and Diablo Predator adjustments to torque managment, shift points and rpm adjustment.
Then added Hooker long tubes and 160 stat - now pull 108 mph with temp at 85 degrees and 90% humidity.(All at same track) Maybe you have a torque managment issue.

Re: lost 6mph w/ 3200 stall
Back to back weeks means nothing. I have lost .2 and 2 mph on the same day in a couple of hours. The difference in DA' means a lot. What tires were you running. Please don't day street tires. Also look at your time slip what were your 60' times before and after the converter. I wen't from 13.4 @ 104 to 12.70 @ 107 on a comparable day on Nitto's.

Re: lost 6mph w/ 3200 stall
well i just got back from the 1/4 mile and i only got 2 runs in.
both runs i didnt get any traction at all but still got 1.9x's
my mph where only 107
so im still losing about 6mph before the converter.
even with me getting no traction, the mph should still be there , right?
ughhhh

yea man somethings slipping..I put one in my mom explorer and lost 5 mph..and i could not it ran 2.4-2.5 60 ft with out and 2.2 60's with but up top it seemed to be not pullin up top..took it out and sent it back and got another and put it in..and now i runs 2.1's with it and i picked up 3 mph with a stock explorer...so maybe that helps and..9.7's at 74 in a explorer in the 1/8

Re: lost 6mph w/ 3200 stall
i thought of something this morning.
since i was slipping so bad off the line and it was running up to the rev limiter right out the hole. im thinking and hoping that it actually shifted into 2nd gear right around the 60ft mark which would explain the real low rpm, becuz not only did my 1/4 mph suck but my 330ft times where high.
and im using e.t. streets and i did a nice burnout but those damn ricers get the track wet.
gonna try to go back out to the 1/8 mile thurs. and sat. to the 1/4.
