Went to HRP tonight, VERY happy with the results
Well went out to HRP tonight. Last time out I had some major computer issues (TM), so I took the car to Chris Robinson (OBSSSD) this weekend. Drove about 300 miles to Dallas, and it was well worth it. This guy knows his stuff, my car's driveability is 100% better and performed much better at the track from my last visit. But I must also give credit to Derek @ TCS. He built me an awesome converter that I am very happy with.
Here are the results from tonight, only ran to about the 1000' so we wouldn't get kicked off.
1st pass:
Me - 3358 raceweight
1.604 - 60'
4.802 - 330'
7.522 - 1/8
90.54 - mph
9.872 - 1000'
2nd pass:
Clint - 3405 raceweight w/2698 DA
1.585 - 60'
4.789 - 330'
7.518 - 1/8
90.25 - mph
9.875 - 1000'
3rd pass:
Me
1.581 - 60'
4.763 - 330'
7.470 - 1/8 (11.7xx 1/4???)
90.96 - mph
9.807 - 1000'
4th pass:
Clint, 2939 DA
1.594 - 60'
4.803 - 330'
7.537 - 1/8
90.05 - mph
9.898 - 1000'
Soon I will be ordering a Wolfe 6-point roll bar from Speed INC and some DR's to be ready for the Thunder Shootout. If you are in the market for a good Torque Converter I definately recommend Derek @ TCS, they are a sponsor on this board and I think they are actually running a GP special right now. I previously ran a Vig3600, but wanted more, and couldn't afford the pricey Yanks so I called up Derek and he took care of me with a custom built 4200 stall. I beleive this converter performs just as well if not better than the Yank TP series converters and they are much cheaper too.

I have the TCS4200 2.7 STR 98% efficiency in my C5. This converter is awesome, it out performs the ST3500 that it replaced.

Good runs lynda Your probably running a 2.7str,knowing derek. If you like that converter just wait I'll be posting up some results on my new 4400/3.0str in a few weekshehe! This things pulls alot harder than the 4200 and has shift extentions of 5800-5900 rpms. Like you i can't wait for the better DA this fall and looking to compete for the top cam only times
