Best glue to bond aluminum to carpet? Ozite users?
Not sure where to post this but I figured some ozite users might help.
I have to glue carpet to my alminum door panels. I used some 3m stuff and it didn't last-started peeling so I took it off-had to clean off the old glue-what a mess.
Don't want to make the same mistake.

Are you also using the mounting screws to hold it on? I have seen guys that just use the spray 3M stuff on both the metal and the carpet, waited a few minuted for both to start getting tacky, then bonding together. They also used some sort of beauty ring/washer deal around the screw that mounts the panel to the door to hold it on as well. I haven't seen one of those bubble up or peel. was your panel coated with anything? if so that could have been you issue and not the glue. Other then that I have no other suggestions, since that is all I have seen used for this purpose...

Dap contact cement, that stuff is real tough stuff. I used it on the ozite under my feet, rest of the car I spray adhesive it down lightly so it's not too hard to take back up when it has to be removed for one reason or another.
The floor under my feet, I dread ever having to take that part up LOL
