Default HVAC Delete, but still with heat

I saw a thread awhile back that got rid of the heater box but still had the heater core so they could run heat. Anyone know of the thread because the past hour I have spent searching has lead me to find nothing! Anyone with pics, advice, or know of where some are like a write up, please chime in!!

I remeber the post as well, you basically have to pull the whole system, cut the box apart to remove the AC end and reroute the flow of air, that originally went into the AC section to bypass it. Give me a little while to search for the post, if I don't find it maybe I can try and write it up in a little more detail, but the pics from that post would be helpful...

the first thread was the one I was thinking about but I found another on where someone modified the box and reused it without getting the delete plate...

I just pulled everything out and bought a little self contained Mojave unit from Summit. More room, less weight, etc.

1SlowFormula thanks for all of the help. I want to drop a few pounds and mainly free up all of that room in engine bay, while still retaining a little heat for late summer nights at the race track or fall cruises.

I saw where someone posted up the Mojave unit TS6 but it was $160. I don't have that kind of money to really play with to just replace something that I may be able to modify myself. Thanks for the suggestions though!
