Default What to do with heater core send/return lines ?

I`m removing the HVAC system from my car. What do I do with the heater core send return fittings on the water pump? Do you just loop them? If so, whats a good way to do it being that they are two different size fittings?
Thanks.

I went to Pep Boys and bought a 3/4 and 5/8 bypass cap. Thet are rubber cooling caps that slip over the barbs and just clamp them on.

So you are saying you capped them off at the pump? I was thinking of this too, but wasn't sure if it would work. Most folks just loop a hose.

I was thinking of just looping it also but you would have to adapt for the size difference and I would think that adding some kind of coupling would create a possibility for leaks. Seems like capping the fittings at the pump would be the way to go.

I looped mine, took about 10 seconds, haven't had a problem at all.

I don't think the differant sizes would cause any problems. Just use the larger of the two hoses and clamp them good. Should take up any slack.

Correct. I just capped mine off at the pump.

Then I will cap mine also. Did you remove the thermostat?

Any cooling differences by just capping it off and not removing the thermostat?

I read that the lines should be looped to help open the thermostat at the correct time.
