Default texas speed 408

well, i just got my car back after breaking at the beginning of june...i got a texas speed 408 and am very happy with the results... i ordered...

-408 shortblock
-Eagle LS1 forged crank 4.00 stroke
-Eagle LS1 H beam connecting rods
-Diamond 10cc pistons
-texas giant cam 248/254 .611/.613 112 w/ pushrods
-LS7 lifters
-Fast 92/92
-Im using the heads from my LS1 they Patriot LS6 style heads...59 cc
-compression is 11-11.5 / 1

i along with alot of other people thought that the heads were going to kill me, and not get the numbers i hoped for...which was 500rwhp..
well with a speed density tune..i put down 491-480

Awesome numbers man, And I'm glad you like the setup!
This is a very similar setup to what I will be going with. (The shortblock at least)

Good Job Man.

Put some heads on there when you have the money and look out. Nice solid beginning. Do you have a graph ?

Nice numbers. I'm working on something very similar to your set-up. I too am stuck using my Patriot LS6 heads-59cc. My cam is smaller than yours though, since this will be a DD for awhile. Hope I can get my numbers up there with yours.

Mine'll be a 418 though, with the 4.100" Stroke for torque.

Nice results Mr. Martin! Don't sweat the heads too bad, just have fun with what you've got for now and get them when you've got the extra $$ to throw at the combo. Let us know if we can help with ported GM castings, AFR, or TrickFlow heads down the road!

I would guess close to 550HP/520TQ. That's what kind of numbers I would be looking for if I bought those set of heads!!

Excellent numbers for the setup! That car's gotta rip!

Like they said, don't sweat the heads for now, enjoy what you've got. Once it gets boring then throw the heads on there and get silly

Picking up 59hp/40ftlbs over the current setup with a head swap??? No chance!

I'd bet it'd be closer to 20/20 or so!
