Default Tuned By Vengeance On Saturday-6.0/L92 Heads

And I gotta tell you I am pretty happy.

Background-car was tuned and modified back in May of 07 with 14k miles on it. After about 20 or so dyno runs we ended up at the below graph-this was with 31 degrees of timing.

So over the next year and half I have had the car on the dyno probably for another 20 pulls all at different dynos experimenting with things, finding out what did and didn't work. But my car has NEVER been able to duplicate this number again even though it runs great at the dragstrip. All of my runs on the dyno have been between 430 and 440rwhp and 396-400rwtq. Which I think is fine because I did take 2 degrees of timing out and was running 29 degrees. I ended up at that figure when Pinks came last year. We were playing around with it and started at 26 degrees and it made 430-it made 446 with 31 degrees and still made 444rwhp with 29 degrees so we ended up there. So I am coming off my personal best last Nov at 11.22. Something has been up with car, driveability has never been great (it was average) so I decided to have it retuned. Fast forward....

Mike retuned the car and I ended up with the below:

This is the first pull and after about 6 pulls and Mikes tuning I end up with my best #'s ever-yeah I know it's splitting hairs and some of you may be saying big deal but let me tell you......

Mike improved the driveability of the car tremendously, and he made these #'s with only 25 degrees of timing in the car!! So realistically day in and day out I picked up around 10rwhp, and 5rwtq from the retune, but the power is now made in a safer way and the car is much more dd friendly. Also, I don't think it is on the graph, but AFR is 12.5.

Stock 6.0l block with 34k miles on it now. Non ported L92 heads, ported intake, cam, normal bolt ons, etc. Stock A4 with Yank 3600.

That is alsome bro. Mike at VENGEANCE know his ****. He is one smart ****. Even everone at VENGEANCE Ron, Buddy and Charlie know what they have to do. This is why I drove 20+ hours for them to tune my car because of the last tuner didn't know WTF he was doing which cost me a new motor. Now I know why they called them self's VENGEANCE RACING!

GREAT JOB VENGEANCE and keep them coming

How you make the power and how usable it is is WAY more important than dyno numbers. This is one mod/story that allows you to enjoy the car more AND sleep at night. Nice work, Vengeance.

Maybe their experience allowed them to tune a car well that has a cam not optimized for the L92 heads? Just a thought. Regardless, these numbers are very healthy, esp. through an auto and with improved manners! Nice!!

Excellent write up. Seems like you only hear good things from Vengeance. I'll give you 2 reasons why, Ron and Mike. I've talked to Ron numerous times and bought a couple things too. Very easy to talk to and willing to help out a tech member. Felt like I was talking to an old buddy, not a sales rep that was trying to close a deal and move on to the next call. I don't know anything about Mike, except what I read, but everything I've read has been good stuff. Keep up the excellent tuning MIKE, and what's up Ron .....

Cool, glad you got the car squared away!!

I can understand where your coming from as my car was in the same boat. Ran like **** at the track, driveability was horrible and just all around sucked. Took it to Vengeance and it never ran better. Picked up 40+RWHP and the car would idle. Never bucked/surged any of that **** after Mike tuned it. The car was perfect!!!!!

Thanks guys I appreciate it.

That's the joke about my car-because the cam is the exact opposite of what all the experts say is an "optimized" cam for L92 heads. So maybe conventional wisdom is wrong......

Also I went to the track yesterday and comparing comparable conditions and 60ft times I picked up .22.

DA about +500

60ft time was 1.62. Best time ever before the Vengeance tune with comparable DA and same 60ft time was 11.62.

Yesterday with approx same DA and same 60ft time of 1.62 I went 11.40.

I ran the 11.22 one day when SDR had a little -DA (-300).

The 11.40 was at 119 and the 11.62 was at 118 and both of these runs were with the same 60ft time, same weight, same track.

Had a chance to talk to Mike a few times while I as down there and he is good people as well as Ron and Buddy!! Vengeance is the best and there are really many reasons why but the big 4 reasons why..
1.Mike is the kick *** tuner
2. Ron(NTFO)..a great customer service representative and good to shoot the **** with too!
Everyone forgets #3 Buddy! Mike could not have tuned my engine if Buddy had not built it!
4. You can trust them with your car!

Yea I hear ya. I have only dealt with Ron, but when I told him why I was upgrading from a ported 90/90 combo (selling it to someone, to help them save money) to one of his ported FAST 92's w/95mm inlet he decided to give me a great deal. Almost no money out of pocket after selling my ported 90 stuff. To make it even better, you gotta love when your tuner/builder raves about how nice Ron's intake was done. Ron told me he would help me to get every last hp out of my 402 by doing everything he could to the 92 FAST. He didn't lie, that intake was almost to pretty to use, a real piece of art. Thanks again Ron.

To the OP you made the right decision going with Vengeance Racing. I have been an LG Motorsports customer, and I back all their products, but gotta give credit where credit is due.
