Default Meziere Water Pump

Can anyone tell me how much power a Meziere Water Pump will give me?

Thanks

0-10 rwhp. Some people gain nothing others have picked up as much as 10. Depends on who you ask.

I did AFR 205's , ewp, ud pully at the same time. Not sure how much the meziere was responsible for.

I do know that my gas mileage went up quite a bit after the heads, ewp, and ud pully were installed. Got 34+ mpg (actual, not readout) 550+ miles out of a hair over 16 gallons. That was the 346 setup though, not sure of the gas mileage for the 402. I'll be driving it from Dallas area to the Detroit area in a few weeks. Shoot me a Pm and I'll fill you in if interested. EWP's are basically the last possible bolt on. JMO

Two considerations. One, reliability of the Meziere and two, if you are going F/I you may not have enough flow to keep the motor cool at higher RPM's since the flow rate is constant and doesn't increase with RPM. I have considered this mod several times, and the reliability issue always stops me from doing it.

That's funny, me too. I have done the math on life expectancy of the pump several times. It always comes out to around 3 years. I think $600.00, 3 years, just cant do it.

Don't do it. Waste of money for little return.

Mine is sitting at Meziere as I type for "repair."

$250.00 to repair it. Plus shipping costs back and forth.

Enormous waste of funds.

That's a bummer. The look cool as hell but I don't think I'll ever buy one.

I don't know what kind of RWHP you will get. But I know for a fact I dropped 3 tenths & picked up 3 mph in the 1/8 mile with a elec waterpump & Underdrive pully.

Went from running 7.50s @90mph with a 1.60 ft. to 7.26 @ 93 with mid 1.5 60fts

My ewp works so well I reused it on my 402. Great mod to have if you ever get stuck in traffic, or want to go to the track at all.

BTW mine was installed in 2006 and have had no issues at all, works perfectly.

+1, Mine does great in traffic. Plus I get better gas milage with it & the motor revs alot cleaner it seemed.

Man you have come along way with your vette.

I agree with you on the ewp bro. It really helped my 346 get great highway gas mileage. Not sure how mileage will be on the 402. Thanks for the compliment bro. If I had it to do all over again, I'd have pulled the stock motor once the warranty was up and dropped in a h/c 402. That way I could always have a motor hanging around as a backup.

Yeah I have been following your car for awhile. One of these days I am going to get a Z06. Want to get a 6spd car & dont' want another F-Body. What was your best on the 346 RWHP.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack

That's 2 parasitic modifications at once while you are attempting to prove one mods gain.

I doubt you're saying you picked up 30 or more rwhp from just the ewp.

I'll ellaborate further. My Meziere lasted for over 4 years even though it had a slight leak the entire time. I wanna say it ran for over ~75,000 miles.

Yes; that's a LONG time. But ~$600.00 plus installation could be spent differently and see better power returns.

Would I buy it again: yes. But I have a substantial amount of money in my toy already. So I actually like to waste enormous amounts of funds. Many others wouldn't justify wasting cash the way I do

Ditto that.

But it should be restated that the Meziere's flow is constant through the rpm's and WILL plateau in the upper range.

Yes...while cruising or idling it runs 181* with a 180* thermostat, and 187* in the 1/8th WOT. The factory pump w/ 160* thermostat ran 196* to 206* only going by HPTuners log not guage.

I paid $350 for mine & $100 for my pully all it had was Dyno time. I think install was $150 alone. $600 bucks for 3 tenths in the 1/8 which comes out to 4 tenths in the 1/4. I will take any day when it comes to N/A hp. Hell you can't even buy a Dry kit for that & most dry kits on a 100 shot only drop 4 tenths in the 1/4.

<--- Elec water & Underive pully are well worth the money! I disagree. Show me a mod where you can get 4tenths of N/A hp in the 1/4 for $600 installed.

Im not saying its the best mod since sliced bread. But yes. If you don't have a Elec Water & Underdrive pully & want better fuel milage & drop alot of et in the 1/4 & run cooler in traffic. Then the Elec waterpump is a great deal since you can find used all day for $350.
