Default first time dyno- need advice

hopefully next week ill hit the dyno with my car, permitting all these parts come in. these guys up here have hptuners and the owner has a z06 he plays with. im just wanting a little advice to make it go a little quicker for them tuning it. my car will be basically full bolt ons and 100 wet shot.

parts on the car:
98 car w/02 motor
LS1 intake (might buy a LS6 tomorrow from a local)
LPP long tubes and Y
SLP catback
K&N FIPK
ported TB
free mods

parts im waiting on
slp udp/belts
plugs/ wires (msd's and tr6's-nitrous)
hardware/gaskets for headers.

im eliminating egr/air/rear O2's, i already have skip shift gone. wanting to do this and get a good tune, retard the timing by 2-3 degrees and hit the button on the dyno.

today i just talked to them and they said maybe 5-600 dollars to tune the car.
im thinking that was high? idk, and the HP licence is 150 but included in that.

how hard is this thing going to be for a tune? what all needs to be done?

idk, im just thinking for a bolt on car a tune would be cheaper and quicker to get done? anyone shed some light on this for me?

i just got mine done with a very reliable and honest mechanic. the credits cost them 100bucks alot of places charge ontop of that my total bill was 260. he did an excellent job i think check out my dyno sheet. i had a diablosport it didnt do the trick there pretty much a waste of money (a good $370 code scanner) unlike alot of ppl on here will tell u cuz half of them are just reps for those products. nothing can get it done like a dyno. if u want i have the DS i have it for sale 250bucks if u want it to see for urself. any questions pm me.

with the car i have a hypertech tuner, but i dont have the tune on it. just use it as a code reader.

i dont see how its a lot to tune, its just a basic bolt on car, then retard the timing and hit the button. yeah a little more than im making it out to be, but im not trying a new fuel system, cam, heads, nothing that would take a little work to get it to run right.

anybody think 5-600 bucks for a bolt on tune/ nitrous tune is too much?

his name is mike valentine, shop is twin city auto in scottsbluff, nebraska.

ok, i guess i was expecting around 3-400 bucks, but when he said 5-600 i was wondering how long it would take to tune a bolt on car.

we charge 500.00 for a tune.

with your mods being minimal, we would probably do it for 350.00 if it was a year model that we already had unlimited credits for.

an alternative would be to buy hptuners and learn it yourself. my tune was done in Lincoln, NE. cost me like $380-400 and it came out perfect. the tuner does awesome work with the LS1. hes done 3-4 of my cars now. pm me if you want his info

yeah thats what i was thinking with the minimal mods i have, i mainly want it to run better and not throw codes, so when one does pop up i know somethings wrong.

yeah andrew ill have to PM you, i called someone in lincoln (well north of lincoln) and he said if i wanted it tuned id have to bring the software and computer, but i can use his dyno. ill get ahold of you if this dont pan out, road trips are fun anyways.
