what do you mean by z06 intake? You mean the MAF?

Also that is a very tiny cam. Although your heads alone should bring you those numbers by themselves. I would guess that you should be around 350rwhp.

A nice torque converter will cheer you up.

well i am curious why you listed that as a mod seeing as though you 2001 came stock with a LS6 intake manifold. I hope noone ripped you off telling you that it was a "zo6 intake"

thats what i noticed as well...

what kind of dyno was it on? its not that far off from whta a stock C5Z would be dynoing, considering its absically the same setup. figure 8-10% for most mustang dynos would be right around ~370ish so id say its not that bad, IF ITS ON A MUSTANG DYNO THAT IS. [very] small cam, unported heads through an auto would pretty much be right around that in my book.

My dyno sheet reads " Dynojet " as dyno used. I guess that makes a difference compared to the Mustang dyno ?

Well I appreciate everyones input. I guess as the saying goes..... "It is what it is" applies here. I'm taking it to the track tomorrow (1/8mi.) and get some #'s on it. I'll put the results on the LS1 Tech Drag Racing Thread. Thanks again.

well ill definitely look for that thread. dont worry about youre ET, alot can effect that. just lsearch around here on threads for cars with close to your setup, or your power levels, and compare that trap speed with yours. that should be the telling factor.

so did you really buy this "z06" intake even when you have an ls6 already? or was yours damaged in some way?

I bought this car about 7 weeks ago. The guy explained that the motor had ZO6 bolt ons. It's more my misunderstanding than anything. The intake was already on the car. I've done nothing to the car except have it tuned. I put this thread on because I've been reading threads with cars that have less mods than mine and are producing more H.P. and running better #'s, and some said to have the car retuned. I'm just not understanding how "another" tune can make any difference !

I ran the car before the tune a few weeks ago. Best 1/8mi. run out of 7 was 8.37 @ 87.6mph. 60ft. 2.01. All runs were close to these #'s. Tomorrow I will see what the tune has done.

no need to apologize we`ve all been there and we still make mistakes and localy we call it a ZO6 intake to lol

you stated 243 heads so you know they are suppose to have that number on the heads

when you look at the heads can you see those numbers? 241 will be the stock 2001-2002

is the LT headers connected to the stock Y pipe like mine came with when I bought it? fixing that alone changed my car.

not saying your numbers are good or bad

Power is low, should be at least 360 RWHP or so with those mods.

What is your WOT timing and AFR set at? Should be around 26-28 degrees of timing and 12.8-13.0 AFR.

Heads are clearly marked 243's. Was there ever a cam change ????? Seller told me motor had ZO6 cam, but that does'nt matter cause everyone on LS1 threads say the cam is small anyway ! Don't know what the timing was set at or if AFR is within those specs. The tuner never gave any info on the dyno results and when I started to ask a question his answer was " If there was something wrong I would've told you" ! End of story. So here I am today totally confused about who, what, where, when........ Once again I really appreciate all the feedback cause it lets me know that the car has some issues that I have to resolve.

try another tuner.

Maybe there is nothing wrong with the car.... maybe its the tuner. Wont hurt you to have someone else see what they can do.

That tune cost me $380.00 for 4 pulls. I can't afford to do another for now.

maybe they wont charge much to hook up a wideband and just dyno it. They may be able to tell you if the tune is bad without actually retunning it.

Im just saying to give it a try before you dump alot of money into the engine just to later find out that your engine was fine to begin with.

No matter what happens Good Luck buddy

Thanks for your help and suggestions. I'll try for another tune and see what happens. I agree it's probably the cheaper way to go. I'll keep this thread informed on any changes.
