Default 350RWHP on stock LS1?? Broken Dyno or Freak?

Brought my 02 Z28 to a local dyno and got some retarded numbers. 352rwhp and 376rwtq. The owner of a local F-body shop who knows about that place told me there dyno is always a tad high, but not that far off ( he said I prolly have 330 - 340hp ).

The only mods I have are a loudmouth 2 catback, gutted cats, slp lid, and bbk TB. I thought these mods really didn't give much, maybe 10hp at most. Think there dyno is messed up or I have some sort of freak?

For what it's worth, I dyno'd 311hp/315tq with LS6 intake, LT headers, ORY, Magnaflow, Ported TB, SLP Lid w/ K&N. 2.73 gears, A4, Hot & Humid day.
My friend with similar mods (minus LS6) dyno'd 330 on the same dyno. 3.23, A4, Cool temperatures.
(Both tuned by the same tuner)

Don't invest much in dyno numbers

My 02 Z28 M6 dynoed 354whp with a lid, slp maf, and a cutout. Not tuned.

This was on a dyno dynamics.

My friends 02 C5 M6 dynoed 351whp with an intake, borla exhaust, and a dyno tune.

My 2001 did 306/316 stock and with just a lid did 318/338 with under 1k on the clock .. sounds a bit high, but it is possible with your mods and a broken in motor that the 33x number could be correct ..

I dynoed at 316/336 with just a flowmaster on a dynojet(LS1 intake manifold, stock lid, paper filter)
so 330/340 could be right.

I got your "freak" story... '02 M6 with full boltons...Pull up a chair- 393/385. Haven't been able to get close to those #'s with another one. The '00 SS with EXACTLY the same mods(sans LS6 Intake) made 361/359. Pisses me right off.

Mustang Dyno results for my 02 WS6 CETA with 9k miles BONE STOCK down to the paper ac delco airfilter was
333hp/352tq corrected

absolutely ZERO performance modifications done. Was dyno'd like it was from the factory. I was making the same numbers as other cars with lids and exhaust that cold day.

pics of dyno sheets are on the front page of my cardomain...in sig.

A tad? That's at least 5% and maybe 9% (using your numbers)!! Imagine the delta on a high power car!

Are F-bodys with LS6 cams myth or fact? I've raced several cars that should have beat me but ended in me half a car ahead and pulling. ( modded evo, 03 vette coupe, several l GTOs ) These were on the streets though so who knows.

And for those asking what kind of dyno, I believe it was a mustang dyno.

i'd look at track times before a dyno to call it a freak. we could throw my wife's stock 99 ws6 on a dyno that is improperly calibrated, make a 350whp pull, and post it up. if the car traps 85 in the 1/8, obviously it is nowhere near that power hah. i like dynos, but not for bragging.

Myth. 25% or so of 02's had the LS6 block but it didnt give more power really. The guy who said LS6 cam from the factory is wrong.

Thats around 380bhp lol. I dont think they were that underrated. maybe it was on a happy dyno? Most of the ones I see dyno 280-300 with an a4 and 300-310 with an m6 which is around 350 crank. Probably where it should be.
