Default cam swap low on power?

i have this posted in the internal section but no help from anyone. i thought i should post this here.

i had a fm-14 put in my motor and dynoed and it made 311hp. the motor was freshend up over the winter and i got it back and a week later a cam bearing kicked sideways in the block but my builder said he checked the cam lopes after pulling everything apart and it was fine. the tuner said i may have a broken spring or lifter problem but i thought i should run this by everyone on the board before i start tearing the motor apart.

it's 1998 ls1, crank turned .10, p/s LT headers, yank 3600 stall that crapped out monday, 4.10 gear. fm-14 cam on 114 lsa. comp 918 springs, stock 98 heads and stock ls1 intake.

I would probably lean towards the cam being out of time. probably a tooth or two off, if i had to guess! are you sure you had it lined up dot to dot

I belive it was dot to dot i would have to call my builder he put everything together and dropped it in. the car wont hold idle in drive, i talked to my tuner and he belives its a valvtrain problem, because it was jumping all around in the higher rpm range in 3rd gear when he dynoed it. he made a run in second gear to see if it would do the same but it didn't. the second gear line was smooth made 311hp in 2nd and 339hp in 3rd but the rpms from 5000 up were going up and down like crazy.

In order to keep the idle up in drive i have to bump the idle to 1500-1800 just to keep drive idle at 800-900rpms, and it loads up till 3,000rpms then once i clean it up it's fine. thats why my tuner and i think it's a valvetrain problem. but i'm not 100% sure on the valvetrain, because to tell the truth i just don't know. everytime i think i know the problem it turns out to be something different and i just don't want to jump on this and it not be the problem.
