Default Dyno & street tuned stock 06z

Just got a new 06z 100% stock. Performed a street and dyno tune on it. This thing had a ton of knock and false knock with just basic street driving also didnt like more then 20 degrees timing on the dyno.. It did however have a decent a/f ration stock, some other ones ive seen just run pig rich from the factory.. Here is the before and after...

Actually I de-tuned it.. Leaned it out and pulled some of the the timing and scaled back the knock retard settings....Most of these I've seen are pig rich from the factory and have over zealous knock retard settings...

What kind of peak timing #'s do you usually run(for just a stock car w/ a tune)? What A/F do you typically shoot for as well?

I've only dyno'ed a couple c6z's, here in oregon we get crummy 92 octane gas. I haven't been able to add any timing to them with out knock...Stock timing is around 22 degree's. I set mine up to run 20, anything over and the knock sensor was kicking in and dropping timing to 13-18 degree's, wish i could get it up to 22-24. I tried a a/f of 12.3-13.0 and settle on a 12.7, power didnt change much between those settings.

You will defiantly get some gains from leaning them out, the few i dyno'ed were as rich as 10:1 at some points! Also you will see some gains by optimizing the knock settings...

Looks great, but I wouldn't consider leaning it out detuning but I get what you mean. I'm impressed. Would it be safe to say that if you're putting more power down to the rollers after pulling the sensitivity back on the knock sensor the KR you're seeing is false?

Can you share what you changes you made on the knock retard settings?

Any theory on why you can not get any more than 22 degrees of timing, other than the obvious one of CR?

Thanks.

WeathermanShawn..

Does anyone in the country get better than 93 octane at the pumps (other than a very few that sell race fuel)? I know our best here is 93. Does that difference of 1 in the octane rating make a huge difference?

Is your c6 faster than your 03 z? On a sidenote were you surprised with the Broncos game? My son was defensive captain on the team that won the Fiesta bowl in 07 and he was recruited by the Ducks out of high school.

I was very unhappy after the Duck-Bronco game and the year before! Both tough losses..! I'll be rooting 4 you to smash those beavers next year though!

WeathermanShawn..
Well I was getting a ton of burst knock from tip in light throttles. So I zero'ed out the burst knock table. Then played with the knock retard delay and attack and that got rid of all the false knock.. I still had a little knock 1-3 degrees wot on the dyno so i scaled back the timing to 20 degress wot and that got rid of it all.... also im using hptuners.
