Default 02 5.3 with Edelbrock and carb.

I'm still trying to find some research on head and cam combo's for my 5.3
I have this in my 55 Belair but it time for 2 fours. I dont want to just stick a cam in it and be done. I'm looking for a head and cam combo that is proven with the Edelbrock intake and carb.

how much hp?
u can mill the stock heads, and use ls6 cam with street hp 650cfm
or gm hotcam, or asa cam. they both work with ls2/ls6 springs and make for good throttle response engine

I want the dual fours (2-500 cfm's) I just need enough to run them efficiently. I'd love a radical sound, but drivability is a must. I have 6 timing curves to work with. Are you familiar with this setup?

I'm stock now but would like to see high 300s or better yet low 400s. Honestly I just want to have fun from time to time. I'm pretty much old school but I'm lovin this Gen III motor.
Its unbelivable the power some of these guys are getting with a stock short block.

Port and polish the stockers and add just about any mild cam and you will see 400 hp even with the 5.3 block.

I have the same setup. My heads are stock for now but I put comp's 220/224 cam with .530/534 lift on a 112lsa and I picked up 5 tenths and 7 mph in the 8th mile. This was obtained with shorty headers, curve 5, and a holly 650. My advice is to send your stock heads to TEA have them ported and milled. 11:1 compression and a mild cam like the one I have will make for a killer street machine.
