Default Cam only. What do you guys think of the power numbers it put down?

Car is a 2001 model Trans am, originally bought as a roller and built it back together. Here are the specs...
Stock 346
Ls6 intake
slp smooth bellow
unknown air lid
pacesetter headers with true duals x pipe on dynomax bullets dumped before the axle
ngkrt5's
comp cams custom grind cam 228/228 on a 588/588 112+2 Lsa
stock 241's with patriot gold springs
ls6 ported polished oil pump
tsp pushrods
Car dyno'd at 390 rear wheel horsepower and 405 rear wheel torque through a 6speed and 4.10 gears? Please give me some suggestions on what to do next to get to the 400 rear wheel horse power mark. Thanks alot!

throw on a set of heads! some prc stage 1.0 or 2.5 ls6's or some prc 5.3's for more compression

Torque is great! Moves out very hard and it drives pretty good for a cam only car. I know a set of heads will wake the motor up but I am trying to keep it to a more simple bolt on. Heads will be in the later future. Anymore suggestions other than heads?

I believe an underdrive pulley would get you there

It's funny how dyno's differ. I got a 225/229 .580/.590 114+4 cam with pretty much the same boltons (so we should be damn close on #s) that did 359/360 on a Mustang Dyno. I'm guessing you were on a Dynojet?

That's what we plan on getting next. Also a set of better headers.

I have seen many dyno's have different results. A friend of mine has a patriot cam with the same specs as yours and his car dyno'd 355/365 on the same dyno I used and he has the same setup except the air lid is different. I am going to find out what kind of dyno we used. His power number and yours look almost identical.

I have the 225/229 cam with PRC S1 LS6 heads and made 409/392 on a dyno jet.

I think your numbers are good beacuse of your ls6 heads. Those are nice numbers your car made.

You could add some 243 heads... they're half the price of a fast and they'll get you there.

Yeah, we had bought one but after getting it the rubber liner inside of it was moving back and forth and we didn't feel safe putting it on. We will be ordering another one here shortly.

We are thinking of the stock 243's right now but we also have a set of 317's that we were thinking of milling down, but I have read that they can't be milled down enough to stay in the same compression and it would just affect the power.

great power. I have the basic same setup. I have a similar cam 224/228 581/588 at 114, 85mm maf, injector and pulley along with exhaust and put 400.1 rwhp and 376 rwtq on a 99 C5 before switching to a vararam intake. I would say pulley next.
