Pretty close to the same setup as me. I've been contemplating switching to 1 7/8 headers now. Just don't know if I wanna deal with it.

It was not detonation. Simply a little interference in the pickup on the dyno. It was cutting out that day and this was the only run with a solid line where the other couple of runs had breaks where signal was lost

That's what I figured.

How is the driveability of that setup? Slow speed? I am considering the same setup.

SWEET98SS, drivability is remarkably smooth, even in 1st gear off of idle. I believe the car is tuned extremely well and it had a good amount of tuning time to get it just right, I think. Forum member 'chevyls10' is the gentleman who tuned the car so maybe he can chime in to verify that. Not concidering the sound and lope, but just from the drivability alone, I think most couldn't even tell it wasn't stock.

And another thing which is a bonus, the car gets about 33mpg highway, 22-23mpg average. The fuel mileage if I stay out of the throttle is actually slightly better then it was stock.

I have the same setup in my T/A and I get about half of that mileage per gallon. About 10 mpg around town. You mean that's all from a poor tune?

Sorry, I can't answer that. I'm not saying anything about your car. I don't know your car, your driving habits, etc. Really, I would have no idea why you get lower mpg. I think one of the main reasons my mpg is very good is due to my driving habits.
