Default My last 3 setup's.....

Stock bottom end, Texas Speed 5.3 stage 2.5, ms3, kooks 1 7/8ths lt's, with kooks y-pipe with cats, and magna flow cat back. Fast 92/92, 38 pound injectors, underdrive. a4 with 3600 fuddle. Car made 455hp and 378tq.

383, with the same 5.3 texas speed heads, custom ground cam 231/235 with .617/.620 on 113+2, transmission specialties 3800 converter. Same headers but with the true dual kooks exhaust with cats. after tune car made 437 hp and 402 tq.

Wasnt quite happy with results so ordered a t-rex to replace cam and the builder I used didnt set preload correctly so lost lifters and cam with maybe 3000 miles on it.

So with new setup with the t-rex, 5.3 heads, same exhaust and tuning car now made 482 hp and 417 tq. Car seems to be much better all around and tq curve is solid. Had a set of 225 afr's brand new in the box since 04 fall into my lap so switching out 5.3 heads and hoping to maybe pic up a few more hp. With this switch going to lose some compression with the new heads but hoping with the excellent design of the afr heads will be able to make up the difference.

If anyone else might have had a similar setup wit ha 383, chyme in please. Just curious about other power numbers you have made and if these seem to be reasonable numbers put down.

These numbers are all thru a dynojet, one in Atlanta and one in Missouri and made identical numbers on each.

I hope this is in the correct section, thanks

482rwhp are solid numbers for a 383 and your mods.

have you had any track times with any of those setups?

the 1st and 3rd ones both seemed to make very good power.

Great power with a simple setup!! Again, im not buying into all that custom cam hype.

No doubt you make over 500rwhp with those AFR heads

A nice, simple easy setup that made great power!!

What are the specs on the TRex cam? I run a stock bottom end ls1 with a V3 can and 5.3 2.5 heads and a ls6 intake M6 and the car made 425 hp 405 tq. Interesting with the ms3 cam that the car picked up top end, but lost trq. I would be interested to see what is possible with the trex cam. Not sure if the trex can be run on a stock bottom end due PTV.

trex can run on stock bottom end as the previos owner of my car had it in the stock motor\heads. then he had LME build the 370 and put the cam back in that motor with stock heads as well. the specs on the v2 are in my sig.
