Smile Heintz Racing C5 w/ Ai 226cc CNC'd 243's

I've been sorting & catching up on old results guys have sent in over the past few months, and I've been remiss in not taking the time to post & update my site. Here's a good one for the LS1/346 guys that serves as a great example of what highly experienced builders can manage with great parts & tuning. This is a Heintz customer w/ a great running corvette who wanted to gain a bit by CNC porting his GM 243's. As usual w/ Heintz, it came out great.

Stock short block
Before: As cast 243's After: Ai 226cc CNC'd 243's
10.9-11:1 CR
232/240 ~.600" HR
FAST manifold
MAF in place

Hope you guys like it!

-Phil

Those results were with Kooks Cats through a modded stock Ti catback system. Since then we have removed the MAF completely along with the cats, and picked up the power to around 485rwhp SAE. The car runs fantastic.

I noticed the dyno is from 3100 on up (where the lines are the same) - do the ported heads affect the lower end power/torque bands any? What about at part throttle?

Check out that flat torque line from 5-6K, with the power still climbing - I'm impressed!

Good point. A lot of guys are looking for that "under the curve" power/torque. How do the AI CNC heads compare to say, a set of AFR or PRC heads, in terms of "under the curve power"?

Correct, only the heads were milled and CNC ported. This is also using stock valves.

Very nice! Who spec'd the cam and has the FAST been ported? Wast the 85mm MAF really that big of a restriction?

It is one of our Cam grinds. Phil did touch up the FAST intake since the owner was wanting to squeeze what we could out of the setup. The removal of the MAF along with the Cats were worth about 8-10 rwhp.

You just want to see if we can hit the number or not. I might have to put you behind the wheel to make it.

Havent had a chance to run the 1/4 mile yet this year. But best 1/8 mile pass was a 6.93. Car has been running 6.9-7.0s consistent in hot weather with the DA being above 2000. When things cool off a bit I will be going to the 1/4. Best 1/8 trap was 102.9mph
