Default New results, should I be disappointed

Took my car to get dyno tuned after spending quite a bit looking for extra power, blah blah blah....

Engine, didn't change any of these
Stock bottom end LQ4
PRC stage 2.5 243s
1-7/8 longtubes
4L60e trans
Steel driveshaft
8.5" 10 bolt

Old setup
TR224 cam, 224/224 .561/.561 112lsa installed dot to dot
LS6 intake
P&P 78mm TB
85mm MAF
4" to 3.5" intake tube to filter
Yank 3600ss converter
378rwhp, 361rwtq

New setup
Pat G cam, 231/234 .617/.612
Fast 102
NW 102mm TB
LS7 MAF in 100mm housing
Full 4" intake tube, same shape as original same filter
Yank 4000ss converter
408rwhp, 368 rwtq

The car was tuned by the same guy, the first time was on a 93 degree day, the second on a less then 45 degree evening

I'm not bashing the tuner because I really like the tune, I just thought it would have been a little better

I'll post pictures of the graphs when I get home

Bigger cam and intake upgrade 30hp seems about right.

Yep, sounds realistic. You're still an auto...how is it under the curve?

probably 20rwhp from the intake upgrade and 10 from the cam. The bigger stall might have hurt the numbers a little also. That sounds about right.

NA can get expensive when you start looking for every last rwhp. I made 430/400 on a "budget" setup. Stock LS1, $1000 heads, LS6 intake, ported stock TB, Pacesetter's Comp 230/230 cam. The I upgraded to heads that cost me $1900, FAST 90/90mm, and a G5X3 cam and made 455/410. Thats alot of money for a 25hp/10tq gain. Granted i did add a set of 4.10 gears to the rearend which ate up about 8rwhp but I expected more from the money I spent.

Yeah I was hoping it was something that I did on my end, but oh well.

I haven't really beaten on the car yet because I've only put 50 miles on it trying to break in the new converter, trans, cam etc. But from a 20mph roll on street tires the car pulls really hard. Can't wait to put the Nitto's or even the MT ET streets on the car.

Here's the dyno comparisons, these are both with unlocked converters. If you have a crappy internet connection be careful opening the old dyno number, as it was taken with my phone which takes huge pictures lol

I think thats very close to what it should be.

I had STG 1 PRC heads 235/243 cam ls6 intake and same stall as you and I made 400 even unlocked and like 415 or 420 locked

my car ran good, trapped 115, im sure yours will also

It's unlocked converter. Can not compare any numbers because even the converter was changed.

That's why I posted the thread, because the converter was changed making it also one of the variables. I guess I will know for sure once the rain goes away and I have it at the track.
