Good work John, very impressed! Try shortening the primary length, and increasing the diameter, if you are still on your original headers you made years ago!

Hey Louis, great to hear from you, hope all is well and thanks for your counsel when I trying to sort this set-up out and now. I have plans now for a triple step header as well as a larger overall exhaust system....can't wait to have it done!

Sweet ride sir. Those G-bodies always look gangster evil. That is the template for how I would do an older car right there. Big-inch, big power N/A LSx, I love it.

Heres another one I look at for inspiration:

BTW, how much power do you think is possible with a N/A LSx on pump gas? Do you think you would benefit much from some bigger heads and little longer stroke? 660rwhp is ALOT N/A. I bet that things so violent.

Nice ride, I like it better with the fender flares though.

Oh yes....personally I'm gunning fror 700RWHP with my new exhaust system and intake set-up.
Do you think you would benefit much from some bigger heads and little longer stroke?
bigger is always more when it comes to cubes....the heads I've got are very special and it would take something very trick and MUCH more expensive to outshine them.
660rwhp is ALOT N/A. I bet that things so violent.
You're a man that knows

Mr John, a question thats been sorta bugging me lately, and since you have a very bad N/A LSx streetcar, is there anyone out there with a N/A LSx street car on pump gas in the 8s? E85 not included? Not worried about how gutted it is or what car its in but just curious...

What an incredible car. Great work my friend. On a side note, is that bottom end safe @ 7600?

I haven't researched this so I don't know, sorry.

Entire motor safe to 7100 RPM per GM for sustanied use (factory redline) so 7600RPM for "ocassional" use surely shouldn't be much of an issue IMHO with solid rollers.

Awesome build/results..!!!!! My old man still has his white SS since new in 84.
I'm trying to convince him to do an LS swap. Just a thought..could your dyno
waves be a valvtrain harmonics issue caused by pushrod deflection ??????
Seems the lobe size and lift #s could possibly need a 7/16" tapered to 3/8" @
the ends....heavy I know but there is some validity to the taper reducing the
stored energy resonance inherent to solid roller valvetrains...great job again !!

Thanks!

No, my pushrods are 0.120" wall thickness, they could hold up a house! I really thinnk the harmonic's are electronically induced to the dyno pick-up's some how and these PR's are really about as large as you can reasonably stuff in there (I had some minor clearancing to do as it was!).

If your dad wants his car to really haul, you know what to tell him! That's cool that he still has it!!!

Those Monte SS cars simply make bad *** hot rods. Great lines.

Maybe I missed it. Stick or auto? 12 bolt or ???? The 8.5 is probably just fine....with some tweaks if that is what's in there.

Are you going to run drag radials or real slicks? Weight?

I drive the Nova in my sig to the track always. That is the fun part.....trailer? What's that?

Will you run at Bremerton?

Way cool, this older dude likes it!

That ought to take about 3 runs....2 to get the feel, then the first full pass!

PIR caught me on the first hit below 11.50

Header fabrication was completed literally last night! I just dropped them off locally for ceramic high temp coating. Will finsih building the exhaust system over the next month and it should be ready to get back on the Dyno by May before heading to the track.

Sorry if I screwed up the sequencing but did you get to th track yet with the 660 horse set up yet? Or is this still building up to that and you figured you would wrok the 700 RWHP number first then pound the tarmac?

And...

Just got the new headers back from being ceramic coated! It won't be long now to build the rest of the exhaust system and strap it back on the dyno to see if we can crack the magical 700RWHP N/A with the new exhasut set-up and PI intake.....these new headers are 1-7/8" stepped to 2" stepped to 2-1/8" with 4" true merge collectors with the tubes ~27" long compared to the old 1-3/4" stepped to 1-7/8" and 32" primary length w/3-1/2" collectors!
