Nice numbers! You should slap a set of 4.11's in it, lots more fun

Update..

Replaced Fast TB with a NW TB & it cured the idle issue.

I'm going to make a thread when I get some time.

4.11's would be crazy lol.

Thanks everyone!

I only have one idle issue left. If you're sitting in neutral, going around in a parking lot or something, when you rev the engine the rpm comes back down past idle & either stalls or catches itself. It's getting really annoying. I want my idle to be solid at 750 rpm. The NW throttle body cured the racing idle when moving.

I have to get Howard to look at it soon. He's a busy guy.
What's your TPS voltage set at? Did you try a re-learn?

Haven't checked the voltage myself. I did try relearning though.

I had mine at .67 and the car would fire right up when it's cold but then once it warms up I get the cruise control affect. Now I have it at .47 and I have to feather the gas a bit on a cold start to keep it running but the cruise control feeling is gone when I slow down. Hope my tuner can do his magic lol

What you're describing is a running airflow issue in the tune.

The IAC motor could be allowing the the IAC passage to close too soon/quickly after the throttle body closes.

What would you recommend the TPS voltage be set at for the tune?

That's what I'm thinking also. Something with the IAC values.

I'm going to get the break in oil changed out tomorrow.

The dyno is busy. Hopefully he can look at it soon.

Thanks for the insight Martin.

So I'm pretty well set on getting 1 7/8 headers & y-pipe. I think I'm going to go with ARH.

I was thinking about sending my Fast 92 out, to Tony Mamo, for porting. I got some feedback that, with my engine, it is not worth it. I myself think it would gain a few ponies up top. IDK.

I guess i'm just trying to make the most power with what I have.

I also want to get control arm relocation brackets. I believe I heard the BMR units work with a 12 bolt.

Have you thought about getting the stepped headers from Kooks? Apparently they've been making more power then just the 1 7/8 headers.

ARH makes an excellent stepped header as well.

The way a stepped header works in a very general sense will help to broaden the powerband and relieve pumping losses at higher RPM from smaller diameter primaries.

For a street car focused on average power below 5000 RPM, I'd highly recommend a stepped header design in an appropriate diameter.

On the ARH web site they only show a 1 7/8" to 2" design.

Are you guys recommending these or a 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" step?

I trust your knowledge Martin.

I'm pretty sure if you call ARH directly they can custom make you what ever set up you want.

1 7/8" worth 6-8 HP on your combo over 1 3/4" not including Y behind it.
1 3/4-1 7/8 step probably 10-15 HP & Torque through 2500-6500 Rpm.
Step is the way to go if it's in the budget, all plus no minus,
Better then either 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 for your combo!

Tony Mamo ported Fast with your combo, ported heads, good sized cam,
and 4" stroke worth at least 10-12, maybe as much as 15 HP!

I'm glad I'm not the only that thinks this is a good idea to get a little more power out of your car lol

1 7/8"-2" Stepped header is too big for street application below
400CI & 6000rpm/600 Crank HP!
