Interesting data on headers. Thanks for the feedback.
I can add from experience that I ran my race headers that were designed for 400 cubes and super high rpm which were stepped (tri) on my 346 ci bolt-on only setup and they dynoed strong and ran strong with no obvious issues with stock heads/cam.

Triple step really broadens the power band over a traditional stepped header.
Look at Nascar, Sprint Cars and most higher end Oval Track race cars.
They run Tri-Y headers with all kinds of steps in long lengths. A 380-420" SBC with 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 traditional firing order can really benefit in average power by utilizing this arrangement.

For poops and giggles I can run this engine through Pipe Max and see what it recommends for primary length and diameter. It takes into account the exhaust port length as well. I have found Pipe Max to be extremely accurate in modeling certain parameters. Meaux is no dummy...

What's up all. Just thought i'd post a little update.
After thinking about it for awhile I think I'm going to keep the 1 3/4" headers for now. I'm really more interested in getting a dual exhaust setup. Seeing the difference on several builds, going to duals from a single, I'm very interested in the TSP true dual setup. I bet I'd pick up maybe 30/20. As it goes I was not planning on going this far when I bought the cat back. Now I feel it's holding me back quite a bit.
Another note is getting to the track. I was planning on going on a test & tune night but I found a different event. An event with roll racing. As I'm on radial tires 1st gear is pretty much useless with anything close to 3/4 throttle & past 3k rpm. My strong point is about a 45-50mph roll in second gear. This Saturday i'll be going to PBIR for the event & see what cars I can hang with.

Might as well throw these vids in here. Both are of the same run. Correct heading should be heads/cam/383-stroker. No laughing gas here.
