Default 98 SS A4 heads/cam LS2 480rwhp/417rwtq

Just got off the dyno with my latest project. I was hoping for 480hp but didn't know what to expect. This was my first pull.

Made a few more pulls and messed with the tune but the car was moving around on the dyno and causing the graphs to be real wavy up top. I think the wore out 17" tires I had on it didn't the like the 160mph dyno pulls.

On the high side yes, but certainly believable. For one, dynos can vary wildly so this may just be one of those loosey goosey ones that given the best numbers. Secondly, those heads could very well be hogged out completely (and rightfully so given the low end torque numbers) so that will help with peak numbers.

On top of having just about every bolt-on imaginable and lower numerically gearing it's believable.

I agree it's definitely believable, but trap speed will tell the real truth. Hell my buddy made 483 rwhp the PRC 5.3 heads, MS4 cam, Fast 102, full bolts, 3.73's with a 4k stall. Does it run like it has 483 rwhp?? No definitely not, but it runs good for what it has

Ok, so this is the OP's car?
If so then DA and raceweight is good to know.

My car ran a best of 7.03 @ 98.5mph with a 1.51 60 still shuttering the tires. I weighed the car that day it was 3560 lbs with me in it and half tank of fuel. I don't know the exact da but it was bad weather mid 90s that day I think. I plan on putting a 3.73 gear in and some slicks soon. Thanks for the kind words guys. I am happy with it but this winter I am porting my intake and changing my valve job to try to squeeze some more out of it.

As far as the dyno goes my buddy has tuned several cars on this dyno and all of those cars numbers seemed to be on par . I did work this set of head's heavily compared to what I usual do for an ls1.
I would like to have seen a better torque number but driving it you would think it had more. It is a beast on the street and I have not got it to dead hook on my drag radials yet.

With a 3560 lb raceweight that's pretty good

I have personally driven this car and it fills very torquey on the street. Maybe its the converter gear combo or something.
I would of thought it would of made near 450 tq by the way it drives.

Ive seen it run at the track as well and it runs hard and im sure it has some 6.x passes in it with good weather and some other minor tweaks.

It would have went 6.9s that day if it would have hooked. And that stock trans was acting up every other pass. Once I get done borrowing his good trans, I think his car will do better also.

Trans, gear, better air, and hooking (and maybe a looser converter) it'll go 6.5s.

Nice work OP. A great combo of parts that obviously are designed to work well together.

seems possible to me, mine would have made right at 450rwhp with the converter locked and he has these advantages over me:

.015" more milling
larger cam
ewp
fast 102 versus my 90
larger tube headers
SD versus my 85mm MAF (could be a mild restriction)
probably has an aluminum driveshaft versus my heavy 3.5" chromoly that's 56" long
higher rear gear ratio

I could see those easily adding to the extra 30rwhp
