Default LSX 376 B15 builds?

Just curious why I have never seen a build using one of these engines? (yes I did a search). They seem like a decent piece with some good parts inside. Hell, if SBE engines are pushing almost 4 digit power numbers with a turbo or blower I would think one of these would be an upgrade!

I always wondered why too. I've seen prices about $8900. I seriously doubt a vender could build a equal boost ready LONG BLOCK for THAT price. Only thing that I wonder about is GMPP uses 4032 forged pistons instead of 2618s.

Exactly. I see them in the newest Jeg's catalog going for $7820.00 with free freight right now. I have as much if not more invested in my forged stock stroke 6.0 with used Trickflow heads. If I had realized how much I would have had invested in my current engine I would have just ordered one of these and had an LSX block and 6 bolt heads!

Anyone want to buy a forged 365????

I would like to hear what Tony M. or Martin@Tick have to say. The cam looks like there are better choices. And I'm more of a cathedral port person. The rest of it looks like a great deal.

It's that high because it uses an LSX block which is hella expensive compared to other iron blocks and kind of overkill if only doing a 4.065 bore.

A forged iron shortblock is going to be 3-4k max, ad in some 800 dollar LS3 heads plus basic cam kit and other misc items and you've got a longblock for ~7000 or so that's just as good under moderate boost (and better with alot of boost). The stronger block and 6 bolt heads are an upgarde sure, but when you got PM rods in a 8k engine you're going to quickly reach the limit of those before you start seeing the benefits of the 6 bolt block and heads.

Still a decent deal for what you can throw at it, just that most people find it cheaper to build up basic 6.0 iron blocks for that kind of money.

GMMP does some strange things sometimes. I guess considering I see stock bottom end cars on here putting down almost 1000hp to the wheels though I am sure the 4032 pistons are stronger than stock. Maybe they can use tighter tolerances with the 4032 material?
