Default C5Z 503/490 Mustang Dyno...

Just curious what a dynojet would say sae with 5% smoothing. I made 503/490 on a mustang dyno, Just some personal bench racing and seeing how I gauge horsepower wise to other cars that have Dynojet numbers, since everyone has Dynojet numbers... everywhere I read the conversion looks to be 10-12% idk....

I have a C5Z with a Forged 11.25:1 baby cammed LS7 swap, P&P 68cc L92 heads, ported Ls3 intake & TB through a RPM Stage 6 4L65 swap / 3200 converter on heavy 19" C6Z replicas with 305/35/19 NT05R'S. Previous to the car getting a tune for the intake & throttle body I ran a 10.8 @ 128 with 18/19 and a 1.68 60' "baby launch". Car had terrible shift points that were 700rpm less then current. I want 10.00 on a 17"

That 10.8 was with a PCV vac leak as well. Car was just tuned last week with Kinks worked out

Very nice car! Like I stated in another thread you will not see much difference between the two. Local Mustang dynos around here read within 2-3% of both of our dynojets (248x and 424XLC2).

Thanks bud, Yea not sure the variation around here. Numbers are just numbers and im bored so doing a little dyno number comparison between some buddies. On a side note, got a buddy with a 07 C6 with a forged Cammed LS2 with a V3 making 580/460 through his 6l80/3200 on a dynojet. Before he had his 6l80 rebuilt and swapped his 3200 for another we ran identical traps with me having a .5 second better ET. He just had it done so no new track times for either of us. I have him in the TQ department all day anyways regardless of dyno... Another buddy of mine has a 06 Charger SRT8 thats cammed with a D1SC making 598/530 on a dyno jet. I was yanking him by bus lengths at the track and over a second faster. That was with him having high 1.50 60's...

Nice numbers! I have a auto swapped c6z. Im making 522/470 on a mustang dyno. I have some goodies I still need to get installed. Mamofied TFS 260 heads (12.5 cr), Solid roller cam, MSD intake and 4k Circle D tc. Im really hoping for 600 rwhp on the dyno or close to it.

They don't mess with them anymore. They use to. I bought the car this way back in july. I had a 2008 Z06 I bought from RPM Trans with a 4l65 auto swap. I sold that car a few years back. I was waiting for a auto swapped c6z to show up for sale and this one did. I want to put a 4l65 in this one swapping out the 6l80e I figured it would be cheaper but its not that much cheaper. Built right these im told will be fine. Might send it off the century trans for there rebuild next year because it will need beefed up.

I would like to but ill just stick with the 6l80e since I have a brand new circle d ready to go in her. I think she will be fine once beefed up. Not really sure why rpm stopped building them but I have seen a few 1000 rwhp 6l80es on corvette forum.

That's because they have them setup to read like dynojets.....the correction factor is 13% to make a MD spit out the same numbers as a dynojet.

Our local MD reads around 13% lower than the local dynojet just as you mentioned.

That's what they typically read.

Shop owners get tired of hearing their customers crying why their car with XYZ mods didn't make what their buddies car did on another dyno or what it makes on the internet.

So MD has a math formula or correction factor that shows dyno jet numbers.

I'd rather make 500rwhp in MD numbers than dynojet numbers any day of the week and I'm pretty confident in saying which car would be faster.

A dyno is supposed to be used as a tool to show gains/losses. What it's actually used for is a dick measurer. Even though the customer will never take their car to the track to see how fast it actually is, or will only roll race his buddies, all he wants is a big number to make himself feel good and brag to his friends.
