Default Cathedral port ls3

Just wanted to post these results after my tune since i couldn't find too much info while i built it for comparison
376 ls3 mahle power pak stock bore scat 6.125 i beam rods stock crack polished and chamfered oil ways cam is 233 238 605 590 lift 112+4 custom grind by crower nothing too out of the ordinary
the heads are 225cc 2.055 1.62 59cc these are pro comp casting which i had built by a local race shop qmp whom originally didnt wanna take the job but ended up giving the castings a shot since they were doing my machine work and balancing the rotating assembly. I simply gave these heads a shot since i bought them a while back when i was strapped for cash. Intakr is a fast 90 which i ported and a holley 90mm throttle body untouched intake mouth is also untouched. 42lb injectors ls7 lifters ls3 head gaskets trunion upgrade the car put down 487/439 through a t56 nothing astonishing but i was impressed for them being off the shelf pro comps my whole system is 2001 ss wiring so 24x and 411 pcm w home made harness motor was built by myself in my 1 car garage. Car is 69 camaro w 8.5" rear wnd w 373 and inland empire aluminum driveshaft stock ls7 clutch 3.73 gears. A very nice way to rebuild for a crapped ls1 re using the top end stuff.

Not too shabby. I'd say there's still room for improvement too.

The end of the dyno run ends around 6250-6300 peaked very early and held power
And 60 mph is a hair below 3k rpm

I had a junk yard ls6 short block blow a piston on start up so i built this ls3 re using the crank and cam from the ls6 (after inspection and recondition) craigslist ls3 block which was in perfect shape to still run 4.065 bore after hone and line hone with durabond cam bearings and king crank and rod. Bearing clearance checked out right where i wanted at .002 for both and if i remember correctly .0035 thrust. .003 on pistons and pistons were about .0085 out of the deck which helped make the 11.8:1 cr i believe dr was about 8.5
Costs the same to make a 6.2 as it would have for 5.7 w the exception of timing gear and cover/adapter harness but small price to pay all things considered

it was around 5750 at the 115mph mark and 6250 at the end (the tuner didnt find it necessary to go beyond that, looks like the power caries though) working on getting a copy with rpm and a/f ratio. But ive calculated it w the speed 3.73 25.6 tall tires 1:1 in 4th gear. Ive put 300 miles on her in a ton of traffic since friday and im very pleased. I sold a 2007 c6 z06 almost 5 years ago to build this car i drove a geo metro and a chevy sprint turbo for all of that time sacrifing until i finally could drive this i still need paint since the hood and roof is flat black (was a vinyl top) and full interior resto and vintage air but at least i can drive her while i do it. Thanks for the kind words guys means a lot.

Thanks for the info. I love the car and it looks like it's enjoying the new power plant.

certainly more power in it if you get a cam to turn closer to 7000 but that thing has tons of tq start to finish, unless you looking for all out then id leave it alone. looks Sick

a huge part of me wants to get another cam already and port the intake mouth w a bigger throttle body cause im sure i would see major gaines, but at the same time the car is so well balanced right now with no compromises i know id probably regret it. As it is it rarely sees over 5k rpm cause it just rips the tires.

I'd say that you'd almost certainly regret it.

Until you decide on a new purpose for the car (like a lot more strip than street) you're better off leaving it alone.

Maybe........look for a new project car to take to the 'edge'?
