Default Post your Cam Only G5x3 TQ at 3000 RPM

I've noticed the G5X3 torque curve extends waaay low. I'm trying to see if it is a trend of the cam, and/or LG headers on Corvettes.

I think the beefy low end will work really well in my 04 GTO w/ stock LS6 heads.

Please post TQ at 3000 RPM and 112 or 114 LSA

THanks!!!

Well, I installed the G5X3 over the weekend with stock 01 LS6 heads w/ 921 Springs. Sounds mean, stalls and needs tuning. I will let you know how it turns out.

U would probabay find alot of graphs on the CF forum. From what I have seen the G5X3 makes around 350ft/lbs at 3000 maybe more. The g5x3 on a 112 makes power torque than the 114-BUT u have to flycut.

I agree. Been searching and rummaging through threads on the G5X3. I have found many of the graphs are missing (bad links), etc. and you get a ton of peak numbers. I am looking for a trend on low end torque.

Also, many of the Dyno graphs come with a 100 RPM increment excel type print out making the resolution better than plotting on the graph.

Thanks for the tip.

With the new Y1 from MTI. My A4 got 355rwtq at 3500rpms- went 400rwtq at 4500rpm`s and stayed there all the way threw 5700rpms. At 6000rpms she is 380rwtq. And at 6500rpm`s I`m at 355rwtq. Now thats a good flat TRQ curve. Remember this is with a A4,12-bolt,3.73, and stall, and safely tuned for spray. Check my sig for numbers on and off spray!

Many thanks - I noticed your Dyno graph while searching. Very impressive.

Since I am dealing with a GTO, the low end is important to get that heavy beast moving.

I searched around and found a couple of posts-the G5X3 on a 112 was actually making 350 at 2500 rpm! I'll look again and post a link-do a search in this forum for the G5X3 and i'm sure u will find it.

Its not uncommon for that cam to extend the 350# mark to 2500 or below with the proper mods.

My old car with less than optimal exhaust and the smaller X2 cam made 360@ 3k FWIW.

Where is the power peaking on the G5X3 114LSA cars? Just curious, trying to figure out whether I'm going to be needing titanium retainers or if steel will suffice. Thanks.

What valve springs?

Most peak between 62-6400

What would you suggest? I was thinking the Crane duals.

Patriot Golds or PRCs. Both of them are very good and well priced!
