I have one of the highest dyno'ing 98-00 LS1 F-bodies that I know of...

BONE stock down to the paper filter: 315 RWHP

Macs, ORP, Lid, pulley, catback free mods: 351 RWHP

This is a 98 LS1, with an LS1 intake. I am pretty confident my car would have done 360 rwhp easily with an LS6 intake and Longtube headers. Oh well, she was strong for her day but now there's a whooooooole new ballgame under the hood

Are these 310+ stock numbers SAE or "as tested?"

With a lid & filter, cat-back, and programming & T-stat from HyperTech, I put down 310.6/328.0 SAE.

The LS6 block thing is still more of a rumor/possibility situation than actual fact as well I think.

I've never dyno'd my automatic '00 Z28 but it has trapped as high as 109.39 which is quite high for a stock convertor, stock geared, stock internal, stock exhaust automatic with some very mild mods and minor weight reduction.

Just to dispell the myth that "all" '01-'02's dyno higher than the '98-'00's:

My '02 dynoed @ 298.4rwhp & 320.0rwtq SAE corrected with 1,263 miles at Speed Inc. Those #'s seem right on average for an LS1 of any model year IMO.

While I do agree that the '01's & '02's seem to be a bit stronger than the three years before, I don't think the differnce is as big as some might think. How the car runs at the track will tell the real story.

And BTW, dyno #'s will vary from dynojet to dynojet. I've seen where some car's have dynoed 10-20rwhp more on a different dyno with the EXACT same set-up. Not real reliable info IMO.

Take it to the strip to find out how fast the car really is.
