Default Stock 05 LS2 GTO numbers!

My brother bought an 05 M6 LS2 GTO a couple of months ago and finally got it on the dyno this past Saturday. I was really impressed with the power it made. The car is bone stock down to the paper filter. At the time the dyno was done the car had 2,300 miles on it. It was also running VERY rich on the top end. I wish HPtuners would hurry up with their LS2 stuff Right now his plans for the car is to get about 7-8,000 miles on it and add some headers and a small cam, along with a pulley and good exhaust to it.

Nice #'s, a little rich though.. I see GM is still adjusting the tunes so the vette stays on top.

Yep, I wish HPtuners would get on the ball and finish up the LS2 software I'd like to see what it would do "tweaked in".

Wow, bump the timing and lean it out. It'd pull 355. Thats pretty stout though.

My z06 was 11.5:1 from the factory

I would not call that VERY rich. Maybe 5 ponies on the table, but if it were my personal car I would leave it alone. Even after headers / cam I would only tune it to 12.5 or so. Just IMHO

very nice numbers and you can lean it out if youre staying on motor...any power adders in the future and you better be ready to get rich, and not in the pockets.

Thats what I was thinking. Even at the richest, the A/F is close to 12:1. Thats pretty damn close. On the street it is probably closer to 12.75:1. Which is pretty close to spot on. The bottom end looks more lean than the top end looks rich, IMO of course, no pro here.

I've had pretty good luck with my car running it where most people consider it "too lean", so that's the plan for the GTO too. I'd like to know how much timing it is getting too.... man, waiting for this software is going to be a bitch.

I challenge that comment.

I have seen on many occations where a LS1 running rich in the low 12's pick up at least 7-8 RWHP, and if you look closely the car is at aprox 11.9 in the high RPM's, where the car makes peak HP.

If I were to make an educated guess, I would venture to say 10-12 RWHP at a dyno reading of 12.7-12.9 (conditions being equal)

Nice #'s, my 02 A4 Z28 with LT's, high flow cats, predator tune, fipk, tb bypass and catback put down almost the same exact #'s just a tad little more torque. Nice to know GM is still underating their h.p #'s.

Nah, my bone stock Z06 was running very rich, it was 11:1. The optimum AFR should be in the range of 12.8 - 13.2
