Default Will i gain much from this tune? Tuning from cam only to H/C??

Well i was just wondering what kind of difference i might see in my tuning.. I have the current tune that was done for the F11 cam only.. and it wasn't the best tune in the world.. and now i am running that same tune on the F11 and stage 2 TEA 5.3 heads..

What kind of increase in power should i expect to see over that tune compared to a new tune by a good tuner? Doesn't seem like the tune would need to be changed all that much.. but what do you think?

what will i gain?
10-20rwhp
25-35rwhp?
40+rwhp

Thanks guys! Just trying to get an idea and see if i have something to look forward to on the tune..

well if you're going from a "tune" to "excellent tune" + those TEA heads, i'd woulnd't be surprised to see 40+rwhp . . . seriously

you really think that its possible? Thats awesome! I will have to see how it turns out! Would putting the 5.3 heads on and raising the compression make my car pretty desperate for a tune? Because it seems like my car runs better now then it did cam only.. not better as in faster.. but smoother and less surging and rough idle..

Thanks for the reply casper! i appreciate it

changing your compression ratio will probably change your engine's timing requirements.and if you had a so-so tune before,it would be wise to get a tune by somebody that really knows what they are doing.even if you don't see a lot of peak HP improvement, the drivability and power under curve improvements are worth the money.

Maybe 10rwhp and some driveability, since you are already tuned for your cam and other mods.

I gained 26rwhp from my Cam only TR224 tune to my current setup tune. The AF/R was in the high 10's and alot more needed to be adjusted with the new heads.

Pay the $$ and have a good LS1 tuner do your car. A good tuner can work wonders.

If your tune is already good, you're looking at maybe 10 additional rwhp from the new tune. Don't feel too bad though, if your heads are good, they should gain you 30-40 rwhp. That means heads and tune should be worth 40-50 rwhp.
